| Forum Thread | Interesting comment from Aaron Paul on 5live this morning... by NedPlimpton at 08:14 30 Apr 2024
...about how much he used to hate getting assigned to ipswich matches, as the whole place was just so negative. Not only the football but the atmosphere in general. Quite a damning assessment of the pre-gamechanger days, but also sheds light on what people external to the club thought about how it was being run. It's understandable why we needed a demolition man approach, even if it can be argued that Cook went about it the wrong way I know Aaron Paul works for the club now, but he couldn't have been more glowing in his assessment of thr mentality of the current squad and the belief that they have |

Forgive me as I’m sure it’s all been covered, just a yes or no is much appreciated. Ipswich win , Saturday we need a point to confirm promotion Ipswich draw, we have to win to confirm promotion Ipswich lose, we’re in the playoffs This is all presuming Leeds best Southampton ? |
| Forum Thread | Time to own up by muccletonjoe at 07:12 30 Apr 2024
Going into these last 2 games, I think it's time to hold my hands up. Never at any point did I expect us to end up being promoted from this league this season. ....and yet here we are with 4 days to go, still knocking on the door. So.... whatever happens in the next 2 games , I will not be calling out ANY player's, no matter their performance. They are all a credit to this football club. And I am proud to call you Ipswich Town players. To a man .Well done to each and every one of you. |
| Forum Thread | Biggest Match since Wembley 2000? by LA_Tractor_Boy at 07:08 30 Apr 2024
Is tonight our biggest match since Wembley 2000? I can't think of too many other contenders considering the potential rewards. Maybe some of the crucial matches we dropped points in towards the end of '01/'02 and '04/'05. Or the '14/'15 play-off semis against Nodge. The matches towards the end of last season were all massive too because promotion was a must. |
| Forum Thread | Well that was a dreadful night’s sleep…. by ITFC_Forever at 07:05 30 Apr 2024
Went to bed. Couldn’t sleep. So started going through all the permutations and convinced myself we’re going to lose tonight, and Leeds will win on Saturday. Which p1ssed me off as we’d be in the POs, and even more so as I’m pretty sure I’m away with work and will miss the second leg. However, I decided we would win the PO semi-finals, and while that’s great for everyone else, I would have missed out on the best night in nearly a quarter of a century. Eventually went to sleep in a foul mood hating everything and everyone. |

Can't sleep, this week is far too stressful and now the missus has piped up. "Why can't you sleep? It's only football." Que a massive eye roll from yours truly which she saw. Now I'm on the sofa stressing about if we lose tomorrow and mess this golden opportunity up. I can't focus on work or family life, I am useless! FFS Town, make this worthwhile...please. I'll even treat the missus to a day out on playoff final day if we go up this week. |
| Forum Thread | Saturday is my birthday by acj at 21:34 29 Apr 2024
I’ll be 33. I was 9 when we got promoted in 2000. I live in Chile so will have to be up at 7:30 to watch the Hudds game, after being out at a friend’s wedding on Friday, so probably going to be hanging like f*€! This is going to be the best or worst birthday ever. |
