The surprising thing to note, for me anyway, is that he's only 25. This is what tells me he'd probably be a smart investment even if he isn't instantly going to score hatfuls in the Champ. |  |

If your previous posts about £18k a week are right then it's going to be a difficult deal to do in January under SCMP, even if he did take a pay cut. I assume we are right at the limit as it stands and anyone we can shift (bar perhaps Norwood) isn't going to free up huge sums in the wage budget.
I do think he will end up here, mainly because he will want the move, but just not sure how it'll unravel. |

We rarely disagree - but absolutely not!
Quite apart from his performances on the pitch, he's settled (Suffolk isn't everyone's cup of tea), loves us, and is a genuine fan of the club. Those 3 things + his quality play are a rare combination & can't be bought*

Incorrect, it's nothing to do with nett transfer income, it's just about turnover. So any sales count towards your turnover, but outgoing fees do not count against.
What it does is actually encourages you to sell half your team and buy expensive replacements. It doesn't make any sense. |  | | |

That really isn't the case - Dozzell is on double that for a start.
In 2018/19 the average wage for a QPR player was £11k a week - it's simply not possible in two seasons to go from average wage of £11k a week, to high earners getting £5k
QPR have really sorted themselves out financially, but there isn't a hope in hell your top earners are on £5k a week

If we can free up Norwood's wages (presupposing he is not wanted by Cook) then it would make the deal easier.
However, getting rid of Norwood will be tough in this current climate with his wages. |

I would love to think that the calls for 1m for him would be right but I don't, if everything goes right for MB for the rest of the season he realistically could be on 30+ goals (I'm even being a little conservative with that number) even at a lower level (meaning league 1) players of that quality demand a high price, I don't think we would get him for anything under 2.5m - 3m and should any deal not be done in January and we do end up going up you can double that figure imo. |  | | |

I wouldn't be surprised if QPR would want to recoup what they paid for him, and given his form, his value certainly hasn't diminished from that.
What that price is I don't know as it was undisclosed between QPR and Charlton, also how would that fall in place with FFP is another question. |
But realistically they will only recoup their money if they sell to a Championship club or us if we get promoted. If we stay in League 1 and are the only bidder (big if I know) his value must surely go down because effectively he is going back to the level he came from. | |

I'm convinced we'll sign him.
QPR just playing the strong hand knowing our owners are likely to pay the price to get him. Hopefully he'll score the winner in the play off final against them next year. |
