I don't know if Frimmers is on twitter but if not then perhaps Phil can act as a go between in order that Frimley reaches out to apologise. Also, I'm pretty sure that Wes Burns dad wouldn't want people to threaten Frimley's family as a result of his tweet. The whole thing is starting to get messy which can't be good for anyone.

Wow, I had a stalker on here years ago which got quite serious.

There are some oddballs out there. Have to say though all the TWTDers I have got to know in person over the years have been lovely.

But the important thing is; is your dad bigger than Wes's dad?

Fight, fight, fight.

Those boys from the valleys are big lads. I got lumped in the ear at a Cardiff/ Town game in 1965, ffs did that hurt, the ear was still ringing in 1970.

I think there’s a lesson here. The fact Wes Burns’ dad has specifically called you out for your barrage of abuse towards his son over recent months hopefully firmly dispels the ‘it’s just words on a forum’ BS that gets wheeled out on here from time to time. People have no idea how such words can impact people, their confidence, their mental well-being. I don’t think it’ll be too long before a footballer decides representing their country isn’t worth it because of the abuse they get from numbskulls online. Owen Farrell already has in the rugby.

I’m going to stop short of saying anything along the lines of reaping what you sow, as implicit in that might be the suggestion that it’s somehow justified to target someone’s family, which to be completely clear is unacceptable and a line firmly crossed.

Your posts on here are disgraceful, not least towards Burns. How you thought it acceptable to freely opine on McKenna 10 minutes into his first press conference with such offensive negativity was beyond me, and beyond me how you were allowed back under a new guise tbh.

You’re a tedious troll who should’ve been banned months ago and this should be a lesson to people. All that said I’m genuinely sorry if what you’ve said is true. That’s not on.

Very well said, I think a number of people have over the last few years opined that what gets said in here does impact, but people either don't listen, or more likely don't care.

Doesn't really matter if you get enough views for the opinion does it? Even if the rest of the world says you're wrong?

I hope that’s not you done. You’ve been played far more often than the ball imo. Far more. The Burns obsession definitely crossed a line though. I hope you’ve reflected on that.

I’m equally appalled and not surprised to hear you’ve received threats. On Twătter, presumably? That place especially, and social media in general, brings out the worst in people. It’s awful and I’m sorry you or yours has been on the receiving end. On the flip side, maybe you now understand how targeting a player online with persistent negative comments can have an impact. This isn’t a vacuum and people do see what’s posted. You don’t deserve to be singled out despite all that, so I hope you’re ok.

There's a lot of sense in what you say, but for balance on the subject of the "smarmy" comment, Frimley did retract that recently with "I think I may have gone too early about KM". I can't recall the thread, but I remember laughing when I read it and the show of self-deprecation.

I think there’s a lesson here for a lot of us. Frimmers is far from the only one to criticise a player. Freddie has had loads of negative comments about him on here recently (and god knows what on Twátter). Much of it is in the heat of the moment, and that needs to be taken into account. But it wouldn’t hurt if people thought about what the impact might be on the player and their families before posting.

It's not a popular opinion, but I think this is an embarrassing take. Offensive negativity? Disgraceful?

The man has been played here x100 rather than the ball.

It's just an opportunity for people to pile on, and if Wes Burns dad is saying no action is required then who are you and everyone else to dictate otherwise.

I assume that you are talking about the persistent and often baseless player criticism? To call out a player who had a poor game for having a poor game is part of the game and has been for all history.

But, there are players that have attracted repeated and unwarranted criticism from various posters on here, more needs to be done to stop that. Excepting Frimmers with Burns, Brandon Williams seems to have become a favourite on this board, often by the same 5 or 6 posters, who seemingly couldn't care less that he is just a young lad.
