If he is actually more unpopular than Truss then people are just thick. No other rational explanation.

They should make unemployed people work for the council, that will keep the bills down

Thick and selfish. The government is making unpopular decisions that needed to be made (instead of kicking them into the long grass like the Tories always did).
These will be unpopular with the people affected (farmers and pensioners for starters).

Trust the process. Trust Phil.

Here in the UK, we are living through a Banter Era in which the PMs of the past 15 years or so can be likened to ITFC managers. So, for example David Cameron was Roy Keane, Liz Truss was Paul Hurst, Rishi Sunk is Paul Jewell, Johnson was Paul Lambert.

Starmer is Mick McCarthy.

I heard that in a recent poll, a quarter of young adults would prefer a dictator over the current system of accountability. That is actually shocking.

I mean, who the F replies to these polls? I've never been asked what I think of the PM/government.
But a dictator is just bizarre. Voting for a dictator is an oxymoron.
This country is full of oxymorons.

Farage would be the oft-talked about coming of Gary Megson.

Only more racist.

Good grief. No doubt he has made mistakes but I struggle to see how he can be rated below Truss, Johnson and Sunak. I’ve never previously subscribed to the theory that swathes of our electorate are thick but I’m reconsidering that view.

A survey conducted in 2016 concluded that 52% of the UK population are exceedingly dim and very easily conned.

When you look at the stupid things people vote for even i sometimes think the electorate aren’t competent to decide what’s best for them!

To be fair it’s not 52% of the total population but rather 52% who voted in the 2016 referendum.

Hilariously Truss was not included in the poll because her tenure was too short

I think it's more the case that those who oppose him/Labour have a bigger platform - Obviously you have the constant whine from the Tory Press - that's sort of amplified now with Farage and further amplified by Trump/Musk and their dog-whistling which gets even more media coverage in those more balanced media outlets.

For me one of the more surprising (perhaps naively) noticeable changes is the amount of political posts criticising almost every policy/announcement on LinkedIn - it's constant - CEOs/Strategists (self promoting ego-maniacs) telling us how many millionaires leaving the country, Financial Advisors (patronising idiots) telling us how "Rachel from Accounts" is going to cost us so much more.

It's so overt and obviously protectionism of their own (companies) position it offers so little balance. I think It's just media and/or social media saturation of negativity. Some criticism is undoubtably deserved and entirely healthy but it's always just tribal (on most sides to be honest) and most offers little balance and no debate.

Notwithstanding whether the result was right/wrong I do think the Brexit referendum/debate etc accelerated that path whether people feel compelled to pretty much pick a "side" and they have to stick to it regardless and the prevalence of various media channels (podcasts/facebook/X/LinkedIn etc) with more advance analytics mean that people very quicky end up in echo chambers where all they hear is messages that already resonate with them and so more people become further entrenched/emboldened.

Apologies for the stream of consciousness so early the morning!
