The Flintstones isn't a documentary! I would argue that hunting isn't all about physical strength, particularly if it's stoats, badgers etc you're after rather than mastadons or elephants. |

I tend to go hunting for bbq meat a bit later in the day, the heat of the sun is a bit less extreme

I hunt for these bargains, gather them in my basket and dutifully queue at the checkout

I merely said physical strength is less required. Were I picking two separate teams to hunt stoats and badgers on the one hand and mastadons and elephants on the other, Charles Hawtrey, for example, would certainly be in the former group.

What makes it worse is that this isnt 'just' the manager making the remark, it's the owner/Chairman!
Pretty poor for a club that has youth and woman's sides playing for it really! By all accounts, there are posts flying around that suggest he is under further investigation for other incidents as well.

I think you might be talking about this study. There’s also a lot of assuming change doesn’t take place outside of “our” culture, transposed on history.
That said, it amazes me when people point to “cavemen” etc as the model for what’s natural, but then talk about 2 genders. Most tribal cultures have multiple gender identities and stuff but people never acknowledge those.

Agree with others on this thread that context is key. A bit of banter about men not seeing stuff and women not being able to park, etc is mostly harmless humour, but he really should have been more careful here.
If you think about how well respected women referees and umpires are in sports like snooker and tennis, and think about what might happen if someone made this comment in those sports, it would cause a lot more fuss.
Fact is, perhaps women's attention to detail is an advantage in the game, and perhaps, also, their lack of ego, as some high profile male refs seem to have made the match more about them than the teams on the pitch, is something to be appreciated.
