I believe that local Labour Parties are forbidden from making any electoral pact in any circumstance.
They are fully wedded to the "This Time It Will Be Different" doctrine... that they will sweep to power with a huge majority, same as 1997

It definitely needs reviewing, I can understand why they are reluctant but the reality is they are only likely to get an outright majority as part of a coalition with the SNP dominating Scotland, until Labour can regain a foothold there, it is always going to be hard for them |  |

Why the confusion? It’s what they’ve been and will continue to be. This leadership rubbish only seems to be a competition about who can promise to be even worse.
