Each airport will have individual contracts with their local police force.. and nationally there is a specific target hours minimum at airports, but no airport has a dedicated armed policing presence 24/7 they will be officers station at their headquarters that routinely attend on rotations to hit specified hours

What Each airport will have, is a dedicated ‘unarmed’ policing team which are part paid for by the airport. Basically a neighbourhood policing role but solely for the grounds of the airport including the terminal(s) working closely with the airport and its security

These ‘unarmed’ officers are generally the officers that will attend incidents and make the arrests when there is a notified inbound passenger flagged by immigration or other agencies etc.

Not correct for Stanstead at least. They have a dedicated full time armed response unit that is purely based at the airport.

Perhaps that’s because it’s the nominated airport for diverting in flight incidents?

I admire your optimism regarding due process. Decades of evidence to the contrary would suggest otherwise, though.

Thing with law enforcement, it does have its fair share of wrong'uns, same as with society itself... But, what it means is that particular officer may be a scumbag.. you can't then tar all law enforcement officers with the same brush, just because of a minority of scumbags...

Don't condone the stamp.

Taking an armed police officers weapon (or trying to) and assaulting a female officer to the point of rearranging her face is the very definition of eff around and find out. He's lucky he wasn't shot dead.

Not true of Gatwick either. Had a long chat with two coppers about their guns one night at LGW whist I was waiting for a bus. (Not a euphemism Hoppy)

I'm down voting because I don't want to live in a society where stamping on a restrained person's head is celebrated

Don't really think that makes me a n*b

Policing was probably always like that back in the day??

But there were never any cameras to catch it, maybe that’s why they’ve had to go soft these days.

While agree, I also don't want to live in a society where breaking the nose of a public sector worker is acceptable.

Next thing we'll be saying, well the patient didn't get what they want from the nurse so it was acceptable to punch her and break her nose.

I also always find it strange that a member of the public will video the police officer doing something, but not when the person hit the police officer - hidden agenda obviously.

The police should have rules, but when someone is throwing a punch at you, how do you stop/defend yourself?

I genuinely think many people watch Vera and think it's real, middle aged female detective confronts criminal, maybe trips up the individual, and criminal simply says, "OK, you have me" and everything is fine. The world isn't like that.

When we had that sword attacker in April.who killed that poor kid on his way to school, nothing would have given more pleasure than if the police could have got to that attacker first kicked him in the head, even jumped on it a few times if that had saved that boys life.

Life isn't a TV drama, sometimes those who protect us have to make decisions which are wrong versus wrong.

Bit like when Corbyn didn't want a shoot on site for terrorists. Poor fecking police office could be confronted by bod with bomb strapped to him, if the officer doesn't fire members of the public could br killed, when he fires terrorist is killed. Either option with upset someone, wrong versus wrong.

....under the North Stand.

He broke two of my fingers, gave me a black eye and nearly removed my right testicle with his kneecap.

But I was really hammered and had just thrown up on his boots.

I didn't moan, I probably deserved it.

Worst I've had was Merseyside police at Anfield.

Copper chucked me out and on the way he took me into the bogs where he gave me a right ole duffing up whilst complaining that I had come all the way to Liverpool to get "Bevvied" in his city.

Thankfully things have changed somewhat as I was in Liverpool Monday and Tuesday this week and had a fantastic burger.

Being a public sector worker myself, there is not a single part of me that would want to see someone's head stamped on and kicked after having my nose broken

I feel like being tasered and restrained on the floor is appropriate and then let the courts decide the punishment. Not the police officer. That is absolutely not what they are there to do

I've no idea, on face value it looks awful and the Cop should be suspended and eventually sacked.

But, like I said, I'd like to see the body camera footage to see if there really was a threat of their guns being taken.

At the very least.

They should taser people for lawfully filming an incident? Perhaps we should punch women and children when they "speak out of place" as well. What sort of person are you?

Punching a women started all the airport drama, so I’m hugely against that sort of behaviour.

But to answer your question - I’m a person of extreme dark humour

If that’s true, the bit where a man broke a ladies nose, then yes, a boot in the face is fully deserved.
