| Statement on 17:09 - Mar 24 with 920 views | SWLondonBlue93 | So the higher-ups at the club were happy to host Reform and didn't think anyone would bat an eyelid at it. Message received. | | | |

| Statement on 17:07 - Mar 24 by TRUE_BLUE123 | No one with any sense wants Farage in power but they are happy to have him associated with the football club and able to use it as a political football (pardon the pun) |
Not happy about it. I don't like seeing him sitting there grinning in our media area. I think the club had an impossible decision. People can argue and have their own opinions. I think Reform have also edited the content very carefully to make it look like they were guests of the club rather than paying customers. I do wish the club had clarified that point.

| Statement on 17:10 - Mar 24 with 908 views | Plums | How many other representatives from parties have been able to hijack the club's brand and use it and the stadium for photo opportunities? I've supported this club for nearly 50 years and today's the first time I've ever had supporters of other clubs come up to me and express their shock, disappointment and disbelief in how we've behaved here. Shameful. | |

| Statement on 17:10 - Mar 24 with 906 views | ITFCSG | Weak. How can the club claim to be "...an inclusive, diverse, and welcoming organisation that supports all members of the local and wider community..." when you are openly allowing a world-famous racist neo-N@zi to shoot his propaganda video at PR? | | | |
| Statement on 17:11 - Mar 24 with 900 views | burnbudgiesburn | I think the statement is perfectly fine, and spot on but about 8 hours late in coming | | | |

| Statement on 17:07 - Mar 24 by JakeITFC | Hosted and engaged with indeed. Glad we were so welcoming in allowing this absolute shower to benefit from the image, badge and stadium of our club. |
Well quite. Apart from the statement which is obviously bollcks - I don't recall ever seeing Farage pictured at another football club with the shirt etc. Probably speaks to the fact nobody is as thick Nash and Ashton to allow such a shower. I hope they both fck off over this. [Post edited 24 Mar 18:40]

| Statement on 17:08 - Mar 24 by LankHenners | It's taken them all day to come up with that?! Only strengthens the feeling that there was more 'involvement' than they initially suggested and know Reform wouldn't be shy about revealing that if it came to it. |

| Statement on 17:06 - Mar 24 by J2BLUE | Nothing more needs to be said. People need to get some perspective and go touch grass rather than engaging in this race to see who can express their outrage in the most dramatic terms. No one with any sense wants Farage in power. I certainly won't vote for him but this has been blown out of all proportion. Downvote me all you want. Get to minus three figures, there's a challenge for you. |
... or maybe, you know, people are *actually* upset about this? Far, far more traction on the board today, from a much wider breadth of posters, than the usual political bickering on here. Farage is a hugely polarising character; plenty on here probably quite pleased that he pulled our pants down, plenty more hacked off that we've handled this so badly. You're happy with the clubs 'clarification'- splendid. Not too sure too many others will be.

The club faced lots of very possible decisions - they have decided to take none of them (and this is the point that you seem to be missing). The club are very protective of their image when they want to be and they've had ample opportunity to remain so in this example but they have not and now our football club is linked to Nigel Farage and Reform UK.

You think this reflects well on the club?? If so you have very poor judgement. I would against the club doing this for any political leader. But for Reform...... I'll put this out there. I think Ashton is a closet supporter of Reform. Which undercuts all the diversity/community stuff that the club does so well. Ashton needs to be held accountable.
| Statement on 17:13 - Mar 24 with 835 views | LegendofthePhoenix | This doesn't cut it. How did he manage to get those photos in the dressing room with several Farage 10 ITFC shirts on the hangers, and why was he allowed to be photographed in the media suite with all the sponsors names behind him? He is a xenophobe and leads a racist party. It's a disgrace to see him photographed with what must have been an officially sanctioned visit. It's a massive own goal by the club, and until there is a proper explanation and apology, many fans will feel ashamed to wear ITFC merchandise. | |

Surely they should have addressed Farage and Reform using the club and its images for political purposes?

| Statement on 17:13 - Mar 24 with 812 views | BlacknGoldnBlue | Absolutely pathetic. No criticism of Farage and Reform using the club. No explanation of how it happened. My initial thoughts after reading it was the club knew what was happening and allowed it, not expecting the bad publicity. Utter shame. Over 50 years a supporter and, even with the relegations, etc, I've never been so disappointed in my club. | |

Based on that statement, "without our knowledge or consent" is very much in doubt. Sitters has recently been very sympathetic to Nigel on here and X so that probably helps with context/whooshing [Post edited 24 Mar 17:18]

And by officially not denying they were involved (which has been the line fed to local media all day), they are basically admitting to being involved and consenting. Nothing says Reform overstepped in their view.

| Statement on 17:08 - Mar 24 by wrightsrightglove | Anyone at the club linked to it should be gone. Not because I hate the little grifting fascist but because they’re clearly inadequate at their job. I’ve got zero media training, but even I could have told you how this would play out and anyone worth their paycheque would have stopped it in it’s tracks |
Given the director of media and comms personally greeted Farage. I’d be looking there. Any comms professional worth their salt could have seen this coming, it’s what reform do. Like others have said, it’s far from the only PR blunder from town. Clearly an area that needs addressing.

It wasn't an impossible decision. They either let them visit or they don't. There's nothing impossible about it.
