Comparisons with seasonal flu are difficult because of the large body of data built up over a number of years for seasonal flu, and (relatively speaking) virtually no data for coronavirus. Also seasonal flus aren't pandemics; the last flu pandemic was swine flu in 2009. That killed between (roughly) 150,00 and 575,000 worldwide.
