Is this ad really offensive? on 13:34 - Aug 18 with 1643 views | Wacko | No because the ad tells a story about one particular woman called Hannah, not about women in general. Bizarre how many people don't seem to realise this.

Is this ad really offensive? on 13:37 - Aug 18 with 1610 views | Ftnfwest | All over my head as to why it would be offensive to anyone, individual people presented as having little 'faults' isn't it. As far as the 'she's conned him into fatherhood' comment is concerned - it initially says he wanted kids anyway?
Is this ad really offensive? on 13:37 - Aug 18 with 1608 views | Illinoisblue | 215 people have lost their minds ffs. Crown Paints didn’t bend over too much in their response which was good to see, although annoyingly they did slip in a mild apology at the end. Brands or companies that refuse to buckle and don’t say sorry over such nonsense will have my business for life.

This is true. The complaints are almost (not quite) sexist - can no women ever do wrong? Can no man wonder if a baby is his? As an aside, I hate with a passion the music so many ads use now just like this one: supposedly inoffensive guitar, 'sweet' little ditties with some bloke singing 'ocado just for you' or whatever - drives me f'cking nuts. Dolly, tell your advert chums to stop it and think of something else. [Post edited 18 Aug 2022 13:44]

Is this ad really offensive? on 14:00 - Aug 18 with 1457 views | Darth_Koont | Offensive in that it’s a pretty ropy ad with some questionable and clumsy lines. Not sure it’s offensive to any group in particular though. Apart from humanity.

| And so as the loose-bowelled pigeon of time swoops low over the unsuspecting tourist of destiny, and the flatulent skunk of fate wanders into the air-conditioning system of eternity, I notice it's the end of the show |

Is this ad really offensive? on 14:05 - Aug 18 with 1426 views | clive_baker | Jenny Eclair is one of those people who has somehow remained in the public eye for literally decades, probably really well off as a result, and I've never actually known what she's meant to be or do. I genuinely didn't know comedy was her niche, thought she was just one of those generic celebrities that probably call themselves a journalist and earn a nice fee off Loose Women once in a while.

Wasn't she the woman who went into people's homes and cleaned them, or was that someone else? I thought that's what she was known for. For some reason she's temporarily hosting Countdown, whilst not great she's still marginally more bearable than that Anne person.

they need to do more like my favourite (non-humorous) ad which is the old Ford Puma ad with Steve McQueen in. Always gets me when he fades away at the end after looking at his motorcycle from the great escape and pats the car (of course he would never have done that n real life with a Ford Puma!)

Jenny Eclair has actually now deleted her Twitter account, I'm guessing over this. Agree with you. And not all relationships are exclusive by the agreement of both parties, whereupon of course equality should mean just that.

Indeed. And bearing in mind the main one offended in the article is a comedian, it's even more bizarre. I doubt she's gone through her whole career without telling a joke that's offended someone.
