Tories calling for Johnson’s resignation? 08:50 - Jan 13 with 435 views | Darth_Koont | Zero standards. Johnson is exactly the confirmed rule-breaker and serial liar who everyone always knew he was. It’s only now when Johnson (and themselves by association) are attracting some heat that they’ve decided honesty and integrity are sooo important. Utter charlatans.

Tories calling for Johnson’s resignation? on 09:03 - Jan 13 with 383 views | Herbivore | This is the crux of it, all of this isn't just in Johnson's character, it IS his character. And he's never really been able to hide who he is. We knew he was a self-serving liar years ago, none of this is news. Something like this was always going to happen and it was always likely to spell the end of his time as PM. That so many Tory politicians knew him and knew his character and were still willing to back him is a stain on them. Feck the lot of them.

It's quite funny how he's spent his life dreaming about becoming PM and idolising Churchill and this is how he behaves when he gets what he wants. Old Winston himself must be looking down and smiling.

Agreed. And by extension it’s in their character too, to wave through such an obvious lack of honesty and integrity when it serves their interests. These aren’t people who can police others’ or indeed their own behaviour and standards. And in the absence of political journalism worthy of the name, these need to be enforced by an independent public standards authority. In the same way that advertising standards or press standards are applied*. *IPSO press standards are too low and too easy to flout admittedly.
