Scooby Do, clue. Rhyming slang.
I honestly think that is the first time I have ever said it. Not sure what happened there.
Cheers for that, at this rate I am going to find out what SUQ and N to the T stand for. As you can tell from the time of the post, these things keep me awake at night...

More the fact people don’t know who PJW is.
Given how an awful lot of these sorts are dreadful attention seekers on top of all their other vile trait, the fact that I've never heard of him suggests he's a failure even at THAT.
I'm one of the people who was blamed for getting Paul Cook sacked. PM for the full post.

Indeed. I’d never heard of him.
The last thing we should be doing is building up his profile and help create another Tommy Robinson or Katie Hopkins.
Starve them of the oxygen of publicity they crave. If they break hate speech laws then lock them up.

The reason most people on here will not have heard of him is because he isn't going to be using media avenues that the demographics of people on here are likely to watch.
I believe his main source of spewing hate is through YouTube, where he currently has 1.8million subscribers. Fairly sizable but not huge.
Just as a note, this guy isn't a troll. Just ignoring him doesn't make him go away.

Cent YouTube just shut him down if he is spreading hate?
I’m glad he’s never come up on my radar before. I hope e doesn’t again.

I'd argue that not calling them out we let them flourish.
But the essential point is that no-one gives a crap about anti-Muslim prejudice anyway.

Nobody?! Not a person?! Fecking Koonters you come out with some guff sometimes, but I didn’t think you were keen to take the crown of the enlightened one.

Hyperbole but given the lack of any follow-up of institutionali Islamophobia then no practical difference.

Because that's not how YouTube operates. They save removals for the "worst of the worst" such as outright terrorist videos, that kind of thing.
Usually with these channels they remove their ad funding (known as demonetizing).
These people aren't KKK style racists though, they aren't going to be calling for genocide. That's not how they operate. The point of these people is to offer just enough legitimacy to start coaxing people into white nationalism.
Also I believe he stood for UKIP, along with Carl Benjamin who goes by "Sargon of Akkad".

It’s just like putting out a fire. You remove one of three things
Heat - in this case the attention he gets Fuel - the advertising and money he makes from his videos Oxygen - he gets no mentions and stays as some virgin on the internet talking to his little echo chamber.

You want me and the lads from the local mosque to descend on parliament to have an inquiry?!
No practical difference. Give over.
Eh?
No, I expect UK journalists worth their name to call out prejudice more. And I expect the British public not to bury its head in the sand the few times it does get called out.

So nobody cares. Not one person. Because you’ve not seen people on a football forum talk about somebody they haven’t heard of before?
I’m just trying to understand where you get this nobody cares about islamophobia from? Frankly it’s insulting to those of us who do care and do stuff within our own communities and workplaces.

From my understanding, removing the attention doesn't work. As long as he can still be shared by people, then he will continue to gain traction. There is a small argument to say things like this might improve his standing but I think in the grand scheme of things it doesn't really do much.
Advertising I agree with. Can't do much without a proper job but unfortunately these nutjobs tend to get funded by some rather wealthy people, or find other ways to gain money (see Alex Jones and his magic pills).
Honestly the best way to deal with these people is (and I know people don't like this) to deplatform them. If they can't spread their hate speech then they have to scuttle off to more niche sites where they can't spread their message to the world. So that would mean collective action from YouTube, Twitter and more.
There will always be places willing to house them online as they'll have supporters. It's removing them from the mainstream platforms that's the biggest win.

Twitter is pretty good at that sort of thing isn’t it?
Are YouTube reluctant to do it due to the amount of people following him and the advertising it brings in?
I genuinely don’t know. I only look at crossfit stuff on YouTube.

Is this Literal Monday?
I admitted I was exaggerating for effect. But in practical terms nobody much cares about anti-Muslim prejudice as shown by how little is done about it or written about it when it's there for all to see e.g. Trevor Phillips's comments or a Conservative Party membership where over half admit to being prejudiced against Muslims.
No wonder someone like Watson is largely ignored. It would bring up a few truths that were closer to home for our politicians and media.

The main reason is that simply, his videos will not break their terms of service and as an American company, freedom of speech is important to them.
As I mentioned, he will be on the edge of acceptability. So they'll demonitise his "worst" videos but leave some, gaining money and views. And people can say "just ignore him, he will go away" but he currently has nearly half a billion views on YouTube.
And that's without getting into the worst of it.
The problem with channels like his and others is what then appears on the "up next" part of YouTube.
Taking a simple example, if you were watching a cross-fit video, the next video up will probably be a cross fit video or another fitness video.
With the alt-right channels, you then start going down some pretty deep rabbit holes. And you only have to watch one before YouTube starts recommending you more and more of the content.

It amazes me that the mainstream media and big venues still allow David Ike to spread his antisemitic rhetoric.
Here is a bloke who is extremely dangerous, incorporates the Protocols of the Elders of Zion in all of his shows, and sells out arenas and up is invited in the major TV channels.
