I do question those who see Celina as some sort of answer. He's like so many we have and have had. He lays on chances but doesn't score many. We need a David Johnson (either of them) or a Marcus Stewart. Not some lumbering lump who lays on goals. Don't know why we can't pick up someone form the Spanish or Italian lower leagues our search shouldn't just be those of League One or Championship status. |
These days it is harder to 'pick up' someone from Spanish or Italian lower leagues.
Foreign players need to accrue a number of points before they are allowed to play here. Those points are weighted on international appearances and the the quality and number of cup and league games they have played.
There are sod all points for playing lower league Spanish football. |  |

Not sure 2-up-top helps much with chance conversion does it? Chaplin and Harness are both very good finishers.
Like I say, very early to call anything in terms of our attacking play and the chance conversion of our strikers. We made one big chance against Bolton, which was missed by a centre midfielder, so I don't think we can blame any of the 3 strikers who appeared at various points for not converting chances. |
Chaplin is a good finisher, haven't seen enough of Harness to comment but clearly his goalscoring record last season is decent.
I couldn't remember either 10s getting ahead of Ladapo to threaten the goal , I think the biggest issue first half was they pressed us very well meaning we had to go long , bypassing Chaplin and Harness.
I actually thought Chaplin was really getting going just before getting subbed, would like to see him given a little longer. |  | | |
