How proud is your area to be English? on 10:26 - Jun 4 by J2BLUE | I love those t shirts. You know exactly the sort of person you're dealing with when you see someone wearing one. |
And what type of person would that Be? The same type who would wear a replica England top?
How proud is your area to be English? on 13:20 - Jun 4 with 2631 views | TJS | I support England at sports but refer to myself as British for everything else. Referring to yourself as English to non-British people is a bit silly as this is not a specific nationality recognised by any other country.

By definition, no. 'An' is singular and 'Englishmen' is plural so you can't have an Englishmen.

How proud is your area to be English? on 18:43 - Jun 4 with 2542 views | phillymark | I've always thought the idea of being "proud" of being a certain nationality to be strange. I'm only proud (or embarrassed I suppose) of my achievements, things that I control. I have no control over my nationality, I didn't do anything to be it, so being "proud" makes no sense

I've got a T-shirt, "British by birth but born in a darkened end of a rotten corridor of a festering wing of of Ipswich general hospital by grace of God." I count Nik kershaw's number one hit with "the Riddle" as one of my own and routinely go on about how amazing Thomas Wolsey was. And I'll fight any b@stard who says otherwise. The concept of pride in the place you are born is utterly absurd. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

Ditto, but oddly most Americans seem to refer to England, not to the UK or Britain.

Depends where you go to I suppose, I had a number of people unsure on the differences between England and Britain and quite often refer to it as 'The UK' above all else. Mind you I was based in Kansas where there does tend to be a somewhat insular culture without much curiosity for the wider world, i should imagine the ESB states are more likely to be on the pulse in that regard seems as there is still a reasonably British influence in those parts, Particularly Maine

How proud is your area to be English? on 22:31 - Jun 3 by J2BLUE | I really, really hate things like this. They serve no purpose whatsoever, aren't interesting in any way and IMO just stir things up. It's like they are looking for things to divide people. Remainers vs Brexiters. Londoners vs Non Londoners. Liberals vs Conservatives. I find it tedious. |

How proud is your area to be English? on 00:08 - Jun 4 by jaseitfc | I always say I'm British not English when describing myself |
The English are great people. As are the Scots, Welsh and Ulster men. I always think of people from the UK as being pretty much one and the same. When times are tough we are always together, we fight together and helped defeat Nazi Germany.
