I may have over dramatised number 2 a bit. Back in school one year we spent one hour a week for a few weeks going to one of the girls schools to do Home Ec. We’d been using an electric mixer at some point in the Swiss Roll making and I’d never unplugged the mixer or turned the switch off at the wall. Few minutes later I was cutting some grease proof paper when the scissors cut straight through the wire, causing a very loud bang and a few sparks. Pretty sure the teacher over there thought I was a bit special.
Number one is Gears of War 3 (Warzone game mode). Servers are still up but that game mode is pretty much dead these days. Been a while since I played so I’ve no doubt fallen down the leaderboard a bit but I’m sure I’m still top 100 if I looked |  |

I absolutely wasn't drunk, if I had been my wife would have ratted me out to the kids but she told them I was AOK.
They refused my passage and the only way I could get home was flying through USA and I have a bit of a problem with entering USA. As luck would have it it was the exact day that it started kicking off in Florida with Trump getting all stupid about immigrants so it was absolute bedlam as I transhipped and I sailed through.
There was an English foreign office dude that was in contact with RKD (Elder Grizzly? Sorry EG, my memory is bad) and he was also on the case helping things out. It was a real TWTD effort, it really was! Unbelievable. |  |

1: Had my honeymoon ruined by an African dictator (Mugabe borrowed the Air Zimbabwe plane that was supposed to be flying us to Harare for an onward flight to Mauritius - so we got stranded for two days and missed most of our planned second week for the honeymoon)
2: When I was 15, stood on David Linighan's foot whilst he was wearing canvas shoes and I was wearing footie boots (he swore very loudly)
3: Was arrested in Majorca when I was 14 for minor vandalism (if you tapped - and I mean lightly tapped - the street light at the bottom the whole pole would vibrate and eventually the bulb would shatter - so me and two others almost blacked out the resort). Was taken back to the hotel reception, gave a false name and thought I'd got away with it. Next afternoon, the hotel manager grabs my step-brother and tries to blame him - he has no idea what they are talking about and my parents get into a big argument with the manager. I then have an attack of the guilts and confessed - cost me my next six months pocket money paying back the fine. It was at Grundisburgh. Mad I think rather than impressive. Woke up to find the ridge pole snapped in two and everyone else's tents had blown away and they were sheltering in the minibus. Lad I was sharing the tent with simply held the ridge pole up so I could go back to sleep.
In the morning walked to Woodbridge after breakfast and every 10 yards had to climb over a tree. The lad who had held up the ridge pole picked up a downed electricity cable too. I guess it was never going to be live lying on the ground anyway! |
