I stopped eating meat 35 years ago. Seemed obvious.
And before you all start picking on me, I'm currently sitting in a lovely pub in Burton, drinking a nice pint, prior to a nice victory over a nice team.

Would agree with that, not all meat is born equal innit.
I can count on 1 hand the number of times I've eaten beef, pork or lamb in the past 3 years. I have meat or fish 2 or 3 times per week and when I do it's either got 2 legs or none. It's a very hard thing to cut out completely, but not a hard thing to cut down significantly IMO, or make more sensible choices.
What fish do you eat that has two legs?

Historically, most people ate grain/corn/rice- and vegetable-heavy diets with relatively small amounts of meat (not necessarily every day), supplemented by eggs and dairy.
Actually killing a domesticated animal was a big investment. When it's gone, it's gone. The whole thing would be consumed, down to the offal and wobbly bits. None of this wasteful eating the nice cuts and throwing the rest away. Killing wild animals required effort, opportunity and was often legally restricted.
Meat gorging is a relatively recent phenomenon - and only available in certain parts of the world.

I'm just waiting for someone (probably from the US of A) to propose "meat trading" in the same way they do carbon trading. You just know it will happen.
You can guarantee it.
