To me Clarke is a MM type of defender. No nonsense, strong, puts his head in where it hurts but not a footballing defender. I was surprised the club let him go, but still think Webster is the more all round better defender and will prove this in due course. |  |

Living in Portsmouth my son often goes to Fratton Park with his Pompey supporting friends. They all love Clarke and are convinced they got the better deal.

He played well again today against Wigan I see, watched him down at London Road back in November and thought he looked very good, couldn't believe the freedom he had to get forward that night, looked assured on the ball, seemed to make the right decisions..
