Why didn't Mick put his trust in him?

They got the better deal..

My former in-laws are Pompey and they think we nicked Webster off them.

They rate Clarke as a limited League 1 defender, but feel if they get promoted, he'll be one of the first out.

Birhgton, West Ham, Leeds, Hull, Reading all linked with him in January so he can't be doing that badly.

To me Clarke is a MM type of defender. No nonsense, strong, puts his head in where it hurts but not a footballing defender. I was surprised the club let him go, but still think Webster is the more all round better defender and will prove this in due course.

Living in Portsmouth my son often goes to Fratton Park with his Pompey supporting friends. They all love Clarke and are convinced they got the better deal.
Due to the interest shown in him during the January window most are worried that, if they're not promoted this season, he'll be off to bigger and better things come the summer.

Do you ever post anything positive? Perhaps you could mention who you thought played well for a change.

He looked good on Saturday. Lots of runs from the defence with the ball. Looked like his old self.

Shame he had a bad game today though

as stated earlier, he had a shocker today. Not sure what is going on with Spence either. Thought he was good first half of season but has declined rapidly since xmas,

He played well again today against Wigan I see, watched him down at London Road back in November and thought he looked very good, couldn't believe the freedom he had to get forward that night, looked assured on the ball, seemed to make the right decisions..

I don't get it sorry guys..

We won't see the best of Webster until a manager who lets him play football is hired.
