The owners have lied, typical yanks, they basically said they were prepared to wait for promotion they weren't expecting it this season.

I guess, in a manner of speaking, it could be argued that "promotion is not necessity this season" or whatever the actual words were look less honest now - otherwise why not give Cook a bit more time to turn the ship around? |

You don’t bring in 18 players and try a root and branch rebuild of a club and expect to to happen immediately
This was a player performance and confidence issue.. the expectation and pressure got to them and they have failed Cook miserably
BUT, and it’s a BIG BUT… the progression we saw after Bolton, including Pompey, Wycombe and yes Sunderland had stalled and we were TECHNICALLY inferior to other teams… barrow looked more comfortable in possession and in transition than us AND cook was starting to let the pressure get to him in interview
