Lawn Advice 13:26 - Jul 2 with 1078 views | hype313 | My grass has started developing large patches of cloves, which makes it look very odd, albeit I know it's supposed to be good for the bees. Any advice on getting rid, in a environmentally friendly way i.e can I douse it in Vodka?

Lawn Advice on 14:25 - Jul 2 with 892 views | Ryorry | Has the lawn got toothache? Seriously though, why on earth would you want to get rid of clover? It fixes nitrogen so I'd think helps your lawn overall, looks lovely, and most important of all is definitely good for bees as you mention; therefore there is no "environmentally friendly way" of "getting rid" of it - let it stay - please. We need all the bees we can get right now, and that includes you, if you have other plants in your garden which need pollinating.

Although use with consideration! "do not apply it when weeds are flowering because these insecticides will be absorbed into the nectar, and are lethal for bees."

Lawn Advice on 15:44 - Jul 2 with 785 views | ElephantintheRoom | Most weeds cant compete with cut grass - so the best ecowarrior approach to keep your sterile grass green and grassy is to set the mower cut low and cut more often. Grass recovers from cutting quicker than weeds and out competes it. In a few short weeks you'll have nothing but grass - which will go brown when it doesnt rain. Definite info.

Lawn Advice on 16:05 - Jul 2 with 746 views | StochesStotasBlewe | Just regular cutting will bee* the best bet Unless you want a bowling green, it’s good for the insects and in turn birds to not use selective herbicides on the lawns. Just finished cutting mine after a rare early finish, and it looks the dogs danglies and I’ve got a fair amount of daisies and a few bits of clover in it. If you want to get rid, then apply the required autumn feed and weed in late September or early October when the bees are less active.
| We have no village green, or a shop.
It's very, very quiet.
I can walk to the pub. |
