No it won’t. He’s had a couple of practice runs with the in-house media so he’s more comfortable with giving stock/meaningless answers that don’t tell you anything you don’t know already.

Just because I don't care doesn't mean I don't understand.

One of them is responsible for needless misery inflicted upon generations of ignorant peasants through both deliberate policy and incompetence and surrounded by 'staff' who are little more than yes-men and mouthpieces and the other was in charge of the Soviet Union once.

that is comedy gold. every word of it. this bit in particular makes me laugh every time:

His world of business wizardry and international daring-do, and my Evening Star world of power-packed daily newspaper journalism had come together - and the new man appeared to like how The Star had handled itself with a potent mixture of newsbreaks on one hand and fun, a la “mystery magnate Marcus”, on the other.

The whole thing makes me nearly crack a molar every time. It's so gutwrenchingly awful and Partridge you can scarcely believe it's real.

Evans is one step above being a Norfolk bathroom selling sex person in the way it reads.

Yes it would, wouldn’t it? But it’s all very odd, you have to agree. He ‘met’ him but doesn’t actually report on anything that was said? A reporter not reporting about a major scoop meeting? I’m so confused.

Cheers for that Mullet. Can’t quite believe what I’m reading. Submitting that for publication should have earned Pickover nothing but the sack. Imagine if one of his staff had travelled to and from London to meet Evans, sat and interviewed him, and then returned to write a pile of poo that didn’t include a single quote. I’m told one of the Star writers came up with a terrific piece to take the you-know-what and posted it on here. Now I’d love to read that if possible.
