Away kit history 17:33 - Apr 21 with 5087 views | gainsboroughblue | Does anybody know (I'm hoping PJH reads this) what our away kit history pre-1970s was? I know we've had the yellow/blue which was worn early to late 70's followed by the white/black, with what followed afterwards, but what was the change colours of choice before that?

That's true-I was behind that goal, as was the ball.

Away kit history on 18:44 - Apr 21 by Swansea_Blue | I couldn't find all the away kits on historicalkits.co.uk. And not only that, in their 'iconic away kits' page, they list these 2 as our supposedly iconic away kits. Don't see how either of those are more iconic than these: |
Marvellous. You can't help but admire Mick Mills' posture.

Away kit history on 23:28 - Apr 21 by bournemouthblue | Personally I prefer yellow to red and that includes on the badge, in fact our red badge symbolises our decline since the 80's I'd go back to a Yellow Badge and have an East Anglian flag on our back collars. I'd encourage all East Anglian clubs to sport the flag, much as the Welsh Clubs did at one point but that's just me |
Agree, yellow badge is a thing of beauty. 25 years on from it being replaced it should return.

One of Town's best kits. If not the best. Adidas were far better in the 80s than today.

Nearly all kits were better then because they weren't spoiled with multiple logos, especially the silly ones promoting the "Premier League" etc. Also, kits were generally simpler then but the manufacturers keep trying to come up with something different, to promote sales. Simplicity is bliss.

Agree. Our two kits for 2014/15 were top notch. Simple but looked great.

I believe this is the first town shirt I owned as a youngster and it was a hand me down

I personally wouldn't go back to the Traditional Yellow badge, the redesigned one with yellow rather than red works quite well although it would not surprise me to see us moving to a simplified version of the horse with just the ball, not unlike the way Tottenham went with their badge I quite like this Retro Woolie hat which Town do though I note we seem to be using 47 who are an American Sports brand who do Hipster style hats for all the major US Sports Teams a bit like New Era although they don't do this Woolie Hat for us, this in probably one we had made far cheaper else where Here's a 47 Cap we do which I like as an example

This is the best one. The horse is stoopid.

The Town Crest itself looks alright in fairness, I think Ipswich Wanders use it, as well as Ipswich Rugby off the top of my head? I believe the Town seal actually has a Boat on it and a similar depiction is used by Ipswich Cricket Club Our badge is our badge though, I think we're the only major English team with a horse on our badge nowadays? I saw a clip of Gillingham in the 80's I think it was and they also seemed to have a horse, leaning back

I agree with the flag but think it should be the flag of Suffolk which is a thing of beauty in my opinion. The Basque clubs in Spain do the same thing with their flag.
