Yet again, he's behind the curveball, fully expect a nationwide lockdown.

No.

They took mocks last month.

Actual exams delayed in the summer, but still due to take them.

Junior was due to start her mocks on the 11th after being due to return tomorrow, which was then delayed to a return on the 11th . So mocks which may or may not be the real thing(no pressure). She has been revising all through the hols but today has thrown in the towel....not a clue if she is coming or going. Spoke to the head of year who pretty much said, 'we haven't a clue what's going on!'

Ah good, some utterly pointless measures thrown in too then.

After all we all know how dangerous it is being outside, in the open air, away from crowds. Much better to be cooped up inside where things can’t spread.

Careful Sarge. Actually pointing out that being outside is very low risk but hugely beneficial to millions of people doesn't quite fit in with the "Do something" mentality of many people.

its been confused on that point since March last year, the papers even just last week were still reporting you were only allowed 1hr of exercise, which has never been the case at all, that was just a comment Gove chucked out there on one of the Sunday talkies, and the media all treated it like it was legislation.

I've not been following the UK rules too closely, have people actually been banned from going outside at any point this year?

Oh ok. Have people on here been saying that folk shouldn't go out for a bit of exercise then?

I've seen going on holiday and having a pub crawl being frowned upon, but I can't say I've noticed exercise catching any flak.

I should imagine that if it's like last March then support bubbles will be no more.

Nah,

They introduced support bubbles recognising the damage lockdown was doing to anyone who lives alone and was unable to mix at all. They learned and adapted their tactics so can't see that changing.

Can hardly say "Year 11/13 pupil, you can't go to school in this crucial year of your education/future, but hey Prem footballers, keep kicking that ball around and having little illegal parties".

And don't give me that "its good for mental health of the nation" to$$

Unlikely. Scotland stopped short of doing that.

And the rotters next to me.... just constantly going out and having people round. And the new people next to my poor parents. Been even more hell for them having to go round to tell to shut the hell up on New Years Eve and there are 4 people round there having a party. There is meant to be one bloke living there. I am scared that my vulnerable Dad will catch the virus off them, they don't give a f*** who they upset.

Sorry mate but you're getting carried away.

No one has suggested outdoor exercise has been restricted to an hour that I've noticed.

Not that being outside is dangerous.

It's frustrating for all of us but let's keep on track here.

There was a bit of needless curtain twitching at the beginning but most people now see unlimited outside exercise as their only salvation.

If we go full lockdown, which it looks like we will, then I plan to get outside and walk my juggs off. Literally.

No.

But some people have been very upset that others have been getting outside as much as they can. I think it is born of ignorance of where the risks actually lie.

Depends on what they are doing and who with surely? I agree with you. Getting outside safely is very important. I've made sure to get outside everyday. Only thing that's kept me sane this year.

I've genuinely not seen anyone criticised on here for that, but it's possible I just missed it.

Tough times. You certainly have my sympathies as a business owner. Businesses are certainly feeling it here. The ban on inside eating and drinking was somewhat workable over the summer, but now the weather has gone south and the fact that most places have little more than makeshift seating in the road... It's going to be a long winter that many won't survive without government assistance.

Thanks Sprucey.

I've had
March 23 -July 15 Closed
Two weeks closed in September due to a member of staff testing positive, although no one else was thankfully and the staff member had no contact with he general public.
23 November -12 December for Nicola's mini lockdown in order to save Christmas
and now Boxing day until Lord knows when.

Not sure I'm coming out the other side of this one.

Am not going to dig out old threads - but more than one (including one who got himself banned) were very unhappy at me back in the spring.

Was born of anxiety am sure - and a misunderstanding that going outside was in itself dangerous.

Fair comment for today.

You maybe missed the poster last week suggesting people are locked inside their homes and the army be used to deliver food.

Again, am presuming it is born of intense frustration at the ongoing virus and our inability to deal with it, but he was seemingly serious.
