The Yanks and their henchmen are for real aren’t they! No more mr Nice guy Ipswich. Not sure if I like that or not - but it somehow feels necessary.

This week, and after today, I had begun to seriously doubt his ability to get us to where we want to be. I’d always said if the September and October progress stalled he would be in trouble - and so it’s proved.

I’m really pleased they haven’t phaffed about and have time to get someone in and give them a chance to have a look before the window opens.

I really hoped Cook would work out, and thought he would. But onwards and hopefully upwards.

Evans sacked Hurst rather more quickly for no greater failure.

I think the new owners have given him more chance than most other owners would.

I saw this and first thought 'In all fairness, Cook never looked like getting us relegated after ten games, unlike Hurst.'

It's probably fairer to say, 'well, I suppose they both marooned us in the the middle of the third division'.

I'm one of the people who was blamed for getting Paul Cook sacked. PM for the full post.
