Missed chances 21:15 - Jul 30 with 3666 views | Cheltenham_Blue | More of the same from last season, failing to take our chances. I do worry that we don’t have anyone who is clinical enough. Another striker is a must, along with a dead ball specialist.

Missed chances on 09:34 - Jul 31 by Veggie | Exactly right. The composure just wasn’t there or we would have scored a couple in that second half. I’m getting a bit tired of people not at the game being the most vociferous and negative voices on here. |
Here we go, didn't take to long. The game finished 1-1. Whether you were at PR or you wasn't. Fact.

Missed chances on 07:27 - Jul 31 by Veggie | You say Evans is a weak link, but he scored our goal and does 90% of our set pieces. I thought he was decent today. |
Unfortunately his set pieces are not good enough for the most part (his second half free kick was horrendous).

He was. Good on the ball, even better off it. Him and Morsy made us tick all afternoon.

Because there are variable threads of a different nature to respond to and I enjoy a discussion about the game and peoples thoughts Unfortunately again people clam up and chuck in the I was there so I know more than you rubbish when they don't like the opposite view. Absolutely some things you don't see on I follow. 1000%. But the chances not taken... you still saw those. Morsys miss. You still saw that. Etc. So it's a silly argument again about being there or not.

He just gets through a game imo. Watching Bakinson last season, 100% he gave the ball away more than Evans... but. He tried things. He looked to get the game going. I just don't see that with Evans. But each to their own with him. Hopefully ball Is better.

Evans has been a bit inconsistent at Town but yesterday he did his job very well. Some top notch long passing too.

What you don’t get the chance to do on iFollow is to actually follow a player off the ball and what they contribute, that is the point people are making to you here

Missed chances on 10:14 - Jul 31 with 592 views | OldFart71 | I do question those who see Celina as some sort of answer. He's like so many we have and have had. He lays on chances but doesn't score many. We need a David Johnson (either of them) or a Marcus Stewart. Not some lumbering lump who lays on goals. Don't know why we can't pick up someone form the Spanish or Italian lower leagues our search shouldn't just be those of League One or Championship status.

Which I agree with which is why I've only spoken about things you can actually see on I follow. If people are lauding about what a player runs like off the ball that's upto them and good for them but that's not the OP and not what I've spoken about either :)

Which part of it? He’s right that Celina isn’t the answer, the rest is questionable though

I think we need a lumbering lump tbf, arf. He is right that Celina isn't the answer in terms of putting away chances. But do we not agree Celina is a step up from e.g. Harness, in that creative role, and getting that final pass to put players in one on one?

Missed chances on 09:26 - Jul 31 by FrimleyBlue | Yes and 80% of those set pieces were rubbish. He's slow and pedestrian in midfield and doesn't break play up well at all. Not gonna say he's had a good game just because he scored a goal. |
" Not gonna say he's had a good game just because he scored a goal." Yet it's all about the results I thought, and without that goal we would have lost, and as importantly Bolton won. You are a hotbed of contradictions ba.

…it’s been that way for a long time, unfortunately. Many use BBC stays as their source of truth and imagine the rest of it. Even on iFollow you miss large swathes of elements of the game that are off camera.

Sometimes watching on I-follow gives a better view of the game than being in the stadium obviously depends where your seat is.

Because he's equated Celina with scoring when that's not his main role. He's a creator who lays in chances for others. Might as well as Morsy isn't needed because he doesn't make any saves. It's just a false equivalence. I think we still do need Celina, Chaplin just doesn't have the killer pass on him in that number 10 position for me but I know I'm on the minority in thinking that. I was however impressed with TJJ so maybe he will be the answer in one of those 10s. SB

Missed chances on 08:02 - Jul 31 by jayessess | Very early to be calling it on the strikers! Fwiw we missed one big chance (Morsy's), what we really did lack was composure with our final ball. Second half there were half a dozen occasions where we fluffed relatively straightforward passes that would've got someone in one on one. [Post edited 31 Jul 2022 8:22]

I'm not necessarily clamouring for 2 up top, it jidt feels like (and the stats back this up) that our chance conversion rate is poor. I do like our system with two number 10s but feel they sometimes don't contribute enough in terns of goals and assists and if they are quiet we struggle to impose ourselves.

Not sure 2-up-top helps much with chance conversion does it? Chaplin and Harness are both very good finishers. Like I say, very early to call anything in terms of our attacking play and the chance conversion of our strikers. We made one big chance against Bolton, which was missed by a centre midfielder, so I don't think we can blame any of the 3 strikers who appeared at various points for not converting chances.

He was really good second half. But him and morsy are so slow in midfield most of the time. We get outplayed there.
