I feel the players should have taken a stand and refused to play on despite the threat of sanctions. Would the authorities dare deduct points in the circumstances and what would that say about how seriously they take racism if they did?
Racist incident in Valencia vs Cadiz match on 22:53 - Apr 4 by Edmundo
In Spain, Italy and England? Yes. Money is more important to the big leagues than any morals.
To be fair on the players, after the match they said the abused player encouraged them to take to the pitch and play for the club's name.
I don't know what the answer is here, but maybe it should be the players who are not getting the abuse themselves taking a stand. Why should the player who got abused be subbed off and the team carry on? Interestingly the opposition took off the alleged perpetrator at half time.
