I was talking to some Baggies on the way to the match. One of them said if they can't beat us then they should sack Moore which I thought was crazy talk. Didn't realise he was on the board of directors ;-)

Poll: What do you want on Sunday?

Get battered at home by bottom of the league with a squad like theirs having not won a home league game in a v long time, what else do you expect.

Shame for him though.

Poll: Would love to know the opinions on here now of Lambert genuinely?

Christ, if not winning in 3 games is a very long run, then what the hell are we on?

Please read the post properly. It says a home league win, which they haven't done since Boxing Day.

Dear oh dear.

The actual principle of your argument is v true though, in my opinion he's done v little wrong, sitting 4th and look a v comfortable bet for the play-offs.

But like I said, when you have a vast amount Premier League quality and Chinese consortium as owners who probably have never been to a game this season and have no knowledge on the Championship, what else do you expect, they tend to be v trigger happy.

Good job opportunity for the next man though - certainly think Jokanovic's name will be thrown in the mix or should be.

On reading their forum, there is suggestion that he was already told before today he was out of the door.

Yep all that's wrong with modern football.

With a squad the size of WBA, carrying such quality on & off the bench - the fact they have been so overly reliant in the loan system is just poor management. Throw into the mix if stubbornly playing Gayle out on the wing just to shoehorn two extra FWDS in the starting line-up. An inability to change things up perhaps.

I believe the Chinese consortium - which paid an eye watering £175m for WBA less than 3 years ago - is heavily indebted & the financial pressures on WBA are huge. They've also borrowed heavily against future parachute payments. Therefore, the financial pressure to bounce back is huge. Hence, the desperate decision to sack Darren Moore.

Has Brunt been injured? Seems odd a player of his experience isn't starting every week.

Good. I'd feel sorry for the fans, but football needs a club like this, or Villa, to go bust so that those in power finally do something.

They've had about 10 years in the PL haven't they, how on earth could they have got into such a mess?

Sometimes it seems the worst possible thing that could happen to a club is promotion to the PL: it's not the end of their problems, just the beginning.

Poll: So what do we think will happen with MM and the Aston Villa job?

Villa were apparently facing huge financial problems. They went down the WBA route, selling to a Chinese owner in 2016 & were probably going to run out of money until new investors bought a 55% stake last year.
