Have to say a bit concerned with how the end of the window is looking..... 15:37 - Aug 31 with 15142 views | itfcjoe | ....after chasing George Hirst for months, there's been a fair bit of talk about how Macauley Bonne would be a big downgrade, but now seems serious interest judging from both Phil and the EADT guys in a player with 74 minutes of league football under his belt. Hopefully by 11pm on Thursday all will have fallen into place - but think it would be hugely risky putting all eggs in the Freddie Ladapo basket as the only number 9 with any proven ability to lead the line in such a pivotal season

Have to say a bit concerned with how the end of the window is looking..... on 20:45 - Sep 1 by FrimleyBlue | im intrigued to know if it's still seen as a shambolic window. ( not joes words) |
And as I clarified more than once, I never said I thought the window has been shambolic - I said the chase for Hirst looked shambolic as it left us chasing our tail on final day. Camara is an excellent signing. Ahadme is promising in his style of play but, as Phil says, lacks real experience. When you look at Wednesday’s, Peterborough’s or Portsmouth’s options up top do we still look a little light? Possibly - I think we’re going to be dependant on Morsy and the ten’s to chip in a lot of goals this season but if it works then, frankly, who cares? If it doesn’t then it’ll haunt us but every club lives and dies by success in the window and how they get the signings to work as a team.

I don't think what we've done will "haunt us". We've tried our best and had a very good window rather than a perfect one... but it's very hard to get a perfect one. It's not like we weren't bothering. I see no evidence we were "chasing our tail on final day" either. I'd have thought we've been working on those two signings for a while - they might've come on the last day but in terms of fitting into the team they don't seem desperate to me.
| Trust the process. Trust Phil. |
