Another thread which basically ended up becoming a repeat of the previous one. A bit more respect to other posters who hold different views and fewer accusations and less baiting of other users. Not really got time to deal with multiple abuse reports first thing in the morning.
Further to that, I take Bloots's point about returning users out to cause trouble. There have been a few over the last little while asking to come back and when refused seem to have set up accounts which have done little other than to cause trouble. I think that's an unfair assessment of Bloots' contribution to this board. He does a great job in rooting out the returning troublemakers as I said. He's like a bloodhound. He can smell em! |

Other than now I have made no comment due to the fact I spent 1.5 years on Kibbutz Be'eri in the early 90's. Its been surreal seeing people I know being interviewed on major news networks, especially a friend whose 8 year old girl was killed by Hamas and a fellow volunteer from the UK who was killed along with her two daughters. There are no winners on what's going on and so many innocents on both sides are losing their lives. The funniest thing about this and the previously deleted thread is Bloots and Blueas being the arbiters of what's right/acceptable/moral when it comes to posting.
It's like the new Amazon ads where they say how great they are to their workers. I don't know whether to cry or applaud. |

Perhaps we can move from the up-down feature to the one I've seen on Bristol City's forum among others. You have symbols/smileys that you can attach to a poster's comment (if you're that way inclined - on Bristol's there's a 👍 and 🏆 among others) and we can make the least kind symbols less wounding than the current one. The worst symbol could be 🫣 or 😳 for instance or maybe the multi-purpose 😂 would be enough. | | | |

i had an enforced block on one now banned poster. the result was that he just continued to post abuse directed at me but i couldn't then do anything about it - i couldn't even report the abusive posts. |
Likewise (perhaps we're talking about the same poster?).
Same with another, slightly different in that he's supposed to be on a gentleman's agreement but continues posting snide references to me obliquely, albeit only occasionally these days. I have him on ignore. |  |

I have suffered that fate since coming aboard, I don't understand how some people can make a forum debate with someone they never met so weirdly personal off the bat just because they disagree with a post or point of view?
One poster kept coming after me on every thread, I tried to ignore it at the start but others started to mob up at me as a result. Jumping on every mistake I made on any post. Admins did their best to clean the threads of the gunk, it's just a shame the posters can't see the work that creates and how negative the forum starts to feel when others have said above, we are doing the best for years!

The board's been pretty decent & comfortable to be on over the past few months, aside from two or three old combatants tediously raking up ancient history.
There's a reason for that - ie Phil n Gav doing a good job as red-card wielding referres on posters who repeatedly went after the man not the ball - & I'm talking about totally unprovoked, defamatory character assassinations on multiple users. Spruce was a bit different - often a great poster but self-aware & knew he sometimes went too far, so voluntarily bowed out I believe. | |
