Although I was keen on a younger coach when we got the not to be mentioned hurst, had we gone for the usual ‘old lag’ he would have been my choice of the realistic options. Suspect he may have kept us up but little more and it would have been a struggle.

Brentford’s subsequent progress demonstrates that their structure and recruitment had as large a role as Warburton did there. He obviously was a part of it but has done very little of note since.
