I have about as much sympathy for him as he's had for Joe Biden's son, Hilary Clinton when she got pneumonia, disabled journalists, widows of military veterans, the 200,000+ dead in the US, the children in cages, women forcibly sterilised, victims of mass shootings and violent neo-nazis and millions of people ruined financially and physically by a lack of access to affordable healthcare. Room for a philosophical debate here - would it be "poor taste" if that one person's death meant tens, or even hundreds of thousands of other people's lives were saved? Would you not have celebrated the death of various evil despots throughout history? (I'm sure you can name a few).
Sometimes it may be for 'the greater good', y'know?
Anyway, I think you can be sure that for every person who's willing to express it in public, there are another ten + who are thinking it in private.
Personally, I hope he survives it, as his death at this point would probably turn him into a martyr for his redneck & other alt-rights to gather round, like moths to a flame. And in any case it's far too easy a way out for him - I hope he survives to be beaten fair & square in November, with subsequent humiliation & being dragged through the courts for his crimes to be fully exposed, followed by many years in jail. |  |
