Kieron Dyer 09:57 - Sep 3 with 5132 views | IPSWICHFANITFC | If rumours are true and Lambert is on his way out, I'd go with Dyer and get Mick back in as director of football. Dyer's ideas on the pitch, youngsters playing more minutes (especially Dozzell) and we get behind Dyer because we all want the same thing - promotion.

Kieron Dyer on 10:10 - Sep 3 with 4260 views | Parsley | Thought he came across well on the BBC football daily podcast from Monday. Clearly done his homework and been watching and taking in a lot of football. I'd like to see it. Not sure about Mick, think that ship has sailed, but a more experienced head would make sense.
Kieron Dyer on 10:17 - Sep 3 with 4217 views | SuperCoops | Mick is not coming back - ever. Get over it.
Kieron Dyer on 10:20 - Sep 3 with 4193 views | IpswichKnight | I'd have no problem with Dyer getting the job, however would we want someone a bit more experienced in ME's view, there are some good managers/coaches available at the moment, Paul Cook and the Cowley's just for example. Mick never wanted a DoF so can't really see him becoming one and I can't see him coming back either.
Kieron Dyer on 10:26 - Sep 3 with 4148 views | WD19 | Unfortunately the squad is so disjointed that it needs someone with more experience to get a hold of things. The mistakes of a rookie would just be magnified. Key for me is the management ‘team’. Whenever we have had a good #2 we have done well.

I think he falls into the 'just give him a chance' category. Worked well with Fulham and Scott Parker for example. Whilst we have a good crop of youngsters on our books, I think now is a great opportunity for Dyer. I think it's clear that the youngsters will get minutes under Dyer too and he believes they are good enough. Again, like Dyer needing a chance, these youngsters need a chance. I don't want to see Skuse play more minutes in midfield this season than Dozzell for example. I haven't listened to the BBC football daily podcast though, I will give it a listen.

That was my thinking with Mick as DoF. A respected figure from all within ITFC (players included), just disrespected by the fans and ultimately it was left with no option but to part ways. If Mick was in and around the club in a role with less to be seen/heard on the public eye, then I do think it could well with a rookie manager like Dyer who understands the club too. Mick was also clever at recruiting too. I'm sure Dyer would benefit from Mick's contacts in the game.

Kieron Dyer on 10:44 - Sep 3 with 4029 views | BLUEBEAT | If Dyer came in he’d have to get rid of Chambers immediately. Which means getting rid of Skuse too, as they love each other so much. I approve.

Kieron Dyer on 10:52 - Sep 3 with 3951 views | rickw | Mick would be a good DoF however he has no interest in the role whatsoever! He likes to be on the training pitch and being the head coach - it will be a few more years before he considers himself to old to coach. I wouldn't mind Dyer as manager/head coach with maybe George Burley as DoF or if not Jim Magilton - might be a long shot that one as ME sacked him, but Jim's been Technical Director for Northern Ireland for a few years and again knows the club.

There is even less chance of Magic returning under Evans than of Mick.

Didn't someone mention that Burley and Dyer don't get on so if true it won't happen.

That isn't true, but I don't see Kieron having George working alongside him if and when he is a manager.
Kieron Dyer on 11:19 - Sep 3 with 3751 views | PhilTWTD | Not really Mick's sort of job, director of football/sporting director is more of an administrative role, not his bag at all. Not sure we really need that situation revived either.

We are more likely to employ someone ridiculously unlikely like Sven Goran than any combination of Burley/Dyer/Magic/Mick. That is not to say Dyer isn't in with a shout, on his own or with someone else.

Kieron Dyer on 11:25 - Sep 3 with 3672 views | The_Last_Baron | We would need somebody with some experience of management, this is not the time for a rookie manager. We don't need someone who has managed for 20 years but this is not the right time for Dyer. Get him in as part of a new regime by all means coaching and plan for him to be a future manager.

We've tried the experienced route time and time again and it's hardly been a success. Having said that, it would be a huge baptism of fire for Kieron to come in under given the constrains Evans puts on managers.

Lambert. Think a lot is being make of Stuart Taylor doing Saturday's presser, he's done a few, usually when we'd spoken to PL a few days earlier, as was the case in this instance. Was decided prior to the photo call shenanigans.

Can you ask why there were 9(!) coaching staff in the group photo shot, yet some players with squad numbers were excluded? Had all of those members of the back room staff earned the right to appear in the shot? How so? Will this be a ‘thing’ going forward as you rarely get more than 3 non-playing staff appearing in squad photos...?
