She certainly likes the sound of her own voice.
It seemed that she was in front of every camera in the HoP a few months back. Couldn't change channels without her noggin front and centre.

Assumption is to make an ass out of you and me. Those who assume they know you, when they don't are just guessing. Those who assume and insist they know are daft and in denial. Those who assume, insist, and deny the truth are plain stupid. Those who assume, insist, deny the truth and tell YOU they know you (when they don't) have an IQ in the range of 35-49.

As I said the other day, she has passion, but does she have control? Railing at Johnson works well at PMQs, but is not a technique which can be used in fiddly negotiations.

Good, she is a proper human being unlike the charlatan currently in office and all of those remotely close to him.

She's always come across as a bit petulant to me. Didn't she also lie about bullying Diane Abbott to get some attention once? I don't dislike Phillips but I'm not sure she's PM material. Starmer would get my vote.

She's got my vote. Worry that she seems a bit divisive but I'd hope she has that ja ne sais quoi to turn it into a positive, not unlike Johnson.

I have a grudging respect for her- but some of the positions she takes, and the way she takes them will put a lot of people off.

Think it's too soon for her to be leader. Give her a prominent shadow cabinet role this time around though.

Is there a politician that doesn't like the sound of their own voice?

If she was constantly on camera then good on her, proof that she's working hard for her constituents, willing and able to put herself into the limelight.

I have seen her a few times on TV and like the way she comes across, more likely to have something in common with the majority of people in the UK rather than the privileged toffs we've had in charge either side of Mrs May. More likely to have some understand of the needs of the majority rather than the few.

I'm not sure she's a leader that will appeal to enough of the population. Large parts of the British electorate, and political commentators, clearly have problems with women leaders too.

Definitely someone who should be a front bencher though, maybe even deputy leader to Starmer.

If the key is to win back 'Workington Man' then I don't see her being the right person - I'd personally like to see her or Nandy as a deputy leader to Starmer a think would be the right balance

Such a woman of the people and loyal to her constituents that she's spent the past few years denying Brexit and campaigning for a 2nd referendum. Every single ward of Yardley where she's MP voted leave, as high as 68% in Sheldon. I think she's progress vs. the current incumbent, and as a remainer I'm not going to grumble personally at her efforts on Brexit, but I don't buy this woman of the people stuff. They're all elitist to55ers.

Look at the results though - she's one of very few Labour MPs in a Leave area who didn't really suffer with regards to hemorrhaging voters, despite loudly and obviously supporting Brexit.

Her track record shows a lot of support and interest in both her constituents and the poorest in society.

Maybe. Don't get me wrong, I don't dislike her particularly and wouldn't be too adverse to her being leader, but I can't say I feel too encouraged at the prospect either. I don't think she'll have wide enough appeal to pull the party back into genuine contention at the next election, although only time will tell. I think Starmer is more likely to do that.

This is a bit will of the people-ish. The job of an MP is to do what they think is best for their constituents, not necessarily what their constituents want them to do. If MPs did exactly what a majority of their constituents wanted, progress, especially on social matters, would be a lot slower.
