So, he worded his grand uncle's history as follows : -

"Grand Uncle George occupied the chair of applied electronics at a leading government institution. He was attached to his position. His death, when it came, came as a great shock".

An ancestor of mine, Jean Pierre, was a leading light in late eighteenth century European aristocracy. He was very well off - up to his neck in stocks (and shares).

It took a very sharp operator to get the better of him, as he was always a very composed figure even under extreme duress, and was renowned for rarely losing his head in life's tricky situations.
