Pickford, Stones, Sterling and Kane will start regardless of any other changes Southgate makes. On one hand, I don't see many changes happening - though I think Jack Grealish will be a tough one to ignore following his effort vs Germany. There are a few yellows creeping about now, so it will be curious to see if Southgate is thinking purely on a game-by-game basis - or with one eye on the potential availability of players if we make the semi-finals.
That said, I think your squad selection is very wild - you don't want to choose a totally different team while some of your players are on a hot streak. Stirling not being in the squad would be the end of Southgate if we lost. |  |

Don't agree with that either, the Germany result shows that it is about picking the best team for the opposition you are facing. Keep the nucleus of the team the same, but make changes where you feel you need to. Ukraine and Germany do not play the same way, you have to adapt to that if you're going to play the way Southgate does. | |

Same team as Germany except Grealish for Saka. Pace isn't really working in this tournament against packed defences (reference France) until later in the games. Even Sterlings goals haven't really been down to his pace, he's been clever enough to be in the right place at the right time. Bring Saka on later against tiring defenders or Mount if no joy for Grealish. Would also like to see Rhys James for Trippier. |  | | |

This is quite bizarre.
It would be the most disrespectful thing to happen in the tournament and we would deserve to lose. They are good players but changing the whole 11 really isn't on in my opinion.
If people get second yellows then so be it - that's football. It would also mean they would be back for the final whereas if you play this, get through and then they get yellows in the next match (then assuming we win) they would miss the final.

As said I think we will revert to four at the back - possibly Mount returning for Walker. Mourinho has stated we should look to rest Maguire, Rice and Phillips due to them being one yellow away from suspension. Not sure if we will but if we do...

The only changes I would even consider are one of the defensive midfielders for Henderson are both on yellows. If we go with a back 4 this probably makes space for a more attacking midfielder to come in such as Mount or Grealish and it'll more likely be Mount as he is better defensively whilst still offering attacking threat. |  | | |
