England v Ukraine X1. 12:08 - Jul 2 with 3147 views | Oldboy | Johnson James White Coady Mings Chilwell Saka Henderson Bellingham Mount Calvert Lewin Basically our B team as don't want to pick up yellows for my best X1. Not direspecting Ukraine, this is still a bloody good side. Only problem I have is not continueing with a winning side. I am split on this, but this side is good enough and would be nice for them to get a game under their belt.

England v Ukraine X1. on 12:12 - Jul 2 with 2594 views | SaigonTractor | That's just asking to get beat. And we'd deserve it with that team. Never underestimate your opponents, or we end up like The Netherlands or France.
England v Ukraine X1. on 12:12 - Jul 2 with 2591 views | MerseyBlue | That's madness. You can't change all those players for a quarter final of a major tournament. I'm not saying they're not good players but they're not our best side. Pickford, Stones, Sterling and Kane will start regardless of any other changes Southgate makes. I expect we will revert to 4 at the back and there will be changes here and there but that line-up is disrespectful, not only to the opposition and the occasion, but also to the players that got us where we are.

England v Ukraine X1. on 12:13 - Jul 2 with 2583 views | IpswichKnight | You play the same team as against Germany to do anything else is plain madness and asking for trouble. We should treat the Ukraine as being better than Germany and give them the respect, they would be over the moon if we changed our team to that one and would be favourites to beat us too.

England v Ukraine X1. on 12:15 - Jul 2 with 2572 views | wkj | On one hand, I don't see many changes happening - though I think Jack Grealish will be a tough one to ignore following his effort vs Germany. There are a few yellows creeping about now, so it will be curious to see if Southgate is thinking purely on a game-by-game basis - or with one eye on the potential availability of players if we make the semi-finals. That said, I think your squad selection is very wild - you don't want to choose a totally different team while some of your players are on a hot streak. Stirling not being in the squad would be the end of Southgate if we lost.

Don't agree with that either, the Germany result shows that it is about picking the best team for the opposition you are facing. Keep the nucleus of the team the same, but make changes where you feel you need to. Ukraine and Germany do not play the same way, you have to adapt to that if you're going to play the way Southgate does.

England v Ukraine X1. on 12:20 - Jul 2 with 2543 views | Ftnfwest | Same team as Germany except Grealish for Saka. Pace isn't really working in this tournament against packed defences (reference France) until later in the games. Even Sterlings goals haven't really been down to his pace, he's been clever enough to be in the right place at the right time. Bring Saka on later against tiring defenders or Mount if no joy for Grealish. Would also like to see Rhys James for Trippier.
England v Ukraine X1. on 12:20 - Jul 2 with 2541 views | blue62 | Noooooo Maybe swap out those that have a yellow card so that they will be available in the semi. If things are going well then make use of the subs. This is England, we do have the potential to make a complete cock-up of this.

England v Ukraine X1. on 12:28 - Jul 2 with 2493 views | monty_radio | It would be bizarre to make such a wholesale change though, interestingly, if almost any one or two of those were drafted in, there'd not be too much complaint. Just shows that while our first choice team is very good, there aren't too many world-class standouts.

England v Ukraine X1. on 12:28 - Jul 2 with 2489 views | StokieBlue | This is quite bizarre. It would be the most disrespectful thing to happen in the tournament and we would deserve to lose. They are good players but changing the whole 11 really isn't on in my opinion. If people get second yellows then so be it - that's football. It would also mean they would be back for the final whereas if you play this, get through and then they get yellows in the next match (then assuming we win) they would miss the final. England v Ukraine X1. on 12:32 - Jul 2 with 2463 views | pointofblue | As said I think we will revert to four at the back - possibly Mount returning for Walker. Mourinho has stated we should look to rest Maguire, Rice and Phillips due to them being one yellow away from suspension. Not sure if we will but if we do... Pickford; Trippier, Shaw, Stones, Mings; Henderson, Mount; Sterling, Saka, Grealish; Kane I do think Southgate will want to keep us tight at the back, though, so might keep one of Rice or Phillips in the team instead of Grealish.

England v Ukraine X1. on 12:35 - Jul 2 with 2447 views | footers | How is it not disrespectful, as well as extremely daft, to play England B against Ukraine in a knockout game in a major tournament? That kind of arrogance cost us against Croatia and countless other sides.

England v Ukraine X1. on 12:44 - Jul 2 with 2389 views | OwainG1992 | Normally we get Norwich fans in Ipswich disguise, I assume you are from Ukraine? Pick a strong team to win! Pickford Walker Stones Maguire Shaw Phillips or Rice DM. I'd go Henderson and Mount just ahead. Then 3 of Grealish Kane and Sterling.

I thought I heard that too to be honest - but what do I know apart from Jack ? Listening to TalkSport all morning where they've discussed it again earlier so I guess they must carry over

England v Ukraine X1. on 13:22 - Jul 2 with 2244 views | vilanovablue | The only changes I would even consider are one of the defensive midfielders for Henderson are both on yellows. If we go with a back 4 this probably makes space for a more attacking midfielder to come in such as Mount or Grealish and it'll more likely be Mount as he is better defensively whilst still offering attacking threat.

https://www.nationalworld.com/sport/football/when-do-yellow-cards-reset-at-euro- "Under UEFA's tournament rules, a player cannot be banned for the final after picking up two yellow cards during the course of the 2021 Euros. The slate is cleaned after the quarter finals, meaning anyone going into the quarter finals on a booking who doesn't pick up another caution has that yellow wiped out. A player can only be suspended for the final if they receive a red card in the semi final."
