And why would you be, given our media is trying to look away from one of the biggest political scandals in living memory?

But anyway ... this is a good overview of the primary source evidence that speaks for itself. And a skewering of a media that's been allegedly complicit during this but but is certainly complicit in its silence now.

corbyn's cronies write report saying it wasn't corbyn's fault and then leak the report as they are shown out the door. it's ok we get it.

let's see what the ehrc says.

And so as the loose-bowelled pigeon of time swoops low over the unsuspecting tourist of destiny, and the flatulent skunk of fate wanders into the air-conditioning system of eternity, I notice it's the end of the show

I agree it’s being heavily dismissed without people wanting to look properly. There should be an investigation and if true those involved should get the boot.

I imagine at many points throughout British history you could get the rope for lesser acts of treason.

It’s a failure and the rigging of democracy if true.

Corbyns supporters are just proving quite how dim they are by leaking it during the Covid-19 crisis. Could have waited.

And you can't blame the "mainstream media" for not caring about it at the moment. Slightly more important things to report about.

Of course, this stuff was already known but then it just becomes guilt by accusation. Now at least there's the documented evidence of their own words.

But that this was known about but not acted on by politicians and the media on the inside shows an utterly frightening level of collusion and disregard for democracy and basic honesty.

Selective quoting out of context in a highly partisan report does not prove what you think it proves.

I suppose the risk is that it was going to be buried. A new broom can also sweep a lot under the carpet.

Yes, you're right. Transparency has absolutely nothing to do with Covid-19 or anything else that's been going on in the political-media sh!tshow over past years. Let's just ignore it.

Sort of like releasing the findings of an anti-semitism investigation a week before an election. At least the Tories kept their mouth shut about the idea of investigating their long list of offences until after the election. And even then they suppress it or simply sack if off. Islamophobia or Russia report anyone?

Regardless of the findings or views on the matter, that investigation was timed and used as ammo to damage Labour. Alongside this leaked document it doesn’t make for comfortable reading, and shouldn’t do to anyone who believes in democracy.

What this demonstrates is that Labour, like we saw with the Conservatives over the last couple of years, is not one single party, but instead a collection of cats fighting in a bag. As a political system, we ought to remove tha bags and allow each cat to stand on its own merits, gathering in coalitions to form governments.

We certainly used to be a lot more fluid about it, even just on movement of factions and MPs between parties, up to the middle of the 20th century. However, the great ideological divide of the period (Socialism v Capitalism) and the way patronage and funding now work, mean that is unlikely to happen in the near future.

I agree with that. PR can help smaller parties stay close to their identity and relevance and then form their alliances and compromises before presenting those to the electorate. Then people would know what they were getting much more clearly and could still vote for their part.

The behind-the-scenes factionalism in Labour and the open factionalism of the ERG and Farage etc. on the right has been a real problem. When you add in a media that doesn't just fuel it but are active participants, then it's caused immeasurable damage to our critical decision-making over the past years. Not to mention to our democracy and union.

Ever since the EHRC investigation started you've cited it as a reason to not vote for Corbyn. Now you're advising "let's see what the ehrc says" before jumping to any conclusions. This amuses me.

The current climate is Tory incompetence and self-interest. The rest is stupid party politics.

Covid-19 needs to be handled scientifically, which is hopefully how we start seeing the bigger picture.

I'm just glad that you are at last championing a report that exposes the Labour party as being a cesspit of antisemitism and rips to shreds people like Chris Williamson and Pete Willsman after all the times you have defended them..

Well done DK. You got there in the end.

I've addressed Williamson and Willsman. Offensive, probably. Antisemitic, debatable.

Glad to see you championing a report that shows the party political nonsense and weaponisation that has made a mockery of protecting Jews.

eh? the only party other than the NF to ever be subject to a full ehrc investigation for institutional racism. yep i do think that's a reason to reject corbyn. but you're ok with that?

anyway, i thought you'd given up the politics after your current man crush made russell brand look like a political heavy weight?

I’m not championing anything.

I think it’s hilarious that the Corynites have decided to burn down the house now they’ve been evicted.

And it looks like it’s going to cost them a lot of money in legal as well.. what a sh1tshow.
