Col U have 4 points (one win and one draw), Spurs U21 have 2 points (one draw plus penalty shootout bonus point).
If Col U beat us, they finish top and us second. Any other result we finish top. If Col U lose and Spurs U21 beat Gillingham or if Col U lose by more than two goals and Spurs U21 draw plus the penalty shootout bonus, Spurs U21 finish second - otherwise Col U do. Gillingham cannot qualify. |

I suppose that it is good that our second string have beaten Gillingham second string although logically our second string SHOULD be far better than Gillingham's second string.
I suppose that it is good that our second string have beaten Spurs fourth team.
I am not sure that it is good that we are getting ridiculously high attendances for this stage of this ridiculous competition.
I am pretty sure that judging from Paul Lambert's words we would not even be in this ridiculous competition if we were not compelled to be in it.
Most of all we would not be in this ridiculous competition if we had not had such a terrible season last season.
edit-just as an afterthought I have of course been lucky enough to have seen us win twice at the old (real) Wembley when winning did mean something. [Post edited 9 Oct 2019 11:21]

I am at every league match (Pretty much) I love the FA Cup.
However, my feelings towards the Carabao cup and this thing is that it is purely fitness and I couldn't care less where we end up in it. The Carabao cup used to be cool, but now it is just prem teams reaching the final 4 (usually).
At least in the FA cup you get the odd national league surprise. See us and Lincoln and Suttons run. | |

BUT, We have no divine right not to be in it either, just as Leeds, Both Sheffield clubs and countless other teams as big, and in some cases even bigger than us have had to play in cups at this level before. What really gets my goat is some of our supporters being so high and mighty that they think we should never get this low in the footballing ladder. sometimes you have to eat humble pie and admit we are where we are because we deserve to be there. That is life. Instead of moaning and groaning about it, Embracing it, and coming back will (hopefully) make us a better team. As in life, people who sit and wallow in self pity, tend to drop even further whereas, people who try to do something positive tend to rise up again. hopefully this will be us. i think this makes sense | | | |

None of those teams you list were enthralled to be in the third division though - in fact I’d wager pretty good money their view towards this cup was similar to those in this thread
