| We have no village green, or a shop.
It's very, very quiet.
I can walk to the pub. |

Not quite at the level of March but very, very quiet. Must just be you Suffolk/Essex rebels

If you compare the traffic levels today with the first day of the last lockdown on 17:37 - Nov 5 with 2264 views | Steve_M | It looks a bit quieter out than usual today in NW1 and NW5 but definitely not the same as March and April.

If you compare the traffic levels today with the first day of the last lockdown on 17:41 - Nov 5 with 2223 views | Oldsmoker | I went to Morissons to get some shopping/attend a super-spreader event and did a U-turn and came back home. The car park was stuffed. I was surprised that the queue for the petrol pumps was long. There's no problem in taking advantage of cheap petrol while you do your shop but what long journeys* will they be doing over the next month? * Distance to Barnard Castle from Bristol is 265 miles.

That's interesting. We have been going in one day a week for the last few months but that was ended with this lockdown. Back to fully WFH. Companies not taking it seriously enough? SB
If you compare the traffic levels today with the first day of the last lockdown on 17:43 - Nov 5 with 2196 views | WD19 | That’s because 99.9% of all traffic on the roads involves ferrying kids 300 yards to school.

I haven't seen the same restriction on driving for exercise this time although I suspect it's in there somewhere. SB

Potentially. It's not exactly a large survey. Two of us already WFH full time anyway, another was working for the whole time as he works in a takeaway but then the other three are still working as normal currently but were WFH before. One of them though is currently WFH as (and this is astonishing) one of their co-workers came back in after two days off with a chest infection because, and I quote, "they had too much work to do". Of course a day after coming in they then alert people they've tested positive for Covid, followed by basically everyone else in the small office except my friend.

My company are insisting everybody come to work as normal, despite the majority being able to work from home. Technically we are “key workers” but there’s no reason to force everyone in. Very few socially distance. It’s a ticking time bomb. Glad I’m leaving.

That's because they're all their way to firework displays. If they'd stayed at home in their own gardens with a few sparklers and some hot-dogs the roads would be clear as you like. [Post edited 5 Nov 2020 21:51]

Schools are still open. Building sites are still open. Colleges & Unis still open. People can leave their houses for unlimited periods of exercise. Etc

Surely some exaggeration. Can't believe for a moment you didn't encounter a small car suddenly stop for no reason or an estate car pull out in front of you on at least one of those journeys.

I’ve only been in twice, once in sept and once in oct which was off site. Was due in the office next week but that’s back on teams. Everyone who can is wfh until April at least. Roads around here were pretty busy when I was out but that was the school run. So many shops open though. This is not a lockdown apart from all leisure, hairdressers and some hospitality.

Yes, this is the key point isn't it? School traffic makes up a high proportion of daily journeys as is obvious during holidays.
