County cricket kickoff 15:46 - Apr 7 with 986 views | SaleAway | Essex started well - having been put in - 149-0.... perhaps england should look at their openers ;-) Middlesex claim first century of the season, with Steve Eskinazi... first ever FC fifty for Josh De Caires ( son of former england captain Mike Atherton), perhaps another potential england opener, in a couple of years...

Was bloody windy at Chelmsford. I went to the club shop and bought a couple of sweaters out of the clearance sale at lunch because I was so cold. Left at tea because I had to work tonight, Chef looked as solid as ever and Stevo wasn't much of a threat.

I have driven to Wolverhampton this evening and was listening to a Gordon Ramsay audiobook on the way up and actually thought of you. I was bloody starving when I landed and after listening to the book I quite fancied some magical food creation involving shellfish and a pretentious foam topping. Unfortunately I am staying in a Premier Inn and have dined in the adjacent Beefeater where I was served grey coloured chicken. I'm currently trying to drown the taste with alcohol but the bar has just shut, thankfully I have a sneaky bottle of red in my holdall.

Shame. The Wolverhampton Novotel is usually cheap, and only 5 mins walk from the wonderful Great Western pub...
