Check out the polls. Tories clearing 50%.

And look at the December election result. The echo chamber may be loud but it is a chamber.

Starmer is as useless as Corbyn. Just in a nicer way.

How are UKIP doing?

Not sure why you’re suddenly a Tory fanboy given your contempt for their traitor’s brexit.

Polls are always likely to show support during a national crisis, when the dust settles, if it turns out to have been as mishandled as seems to be the case, there will be a very quick and very severe reckoning.

More wishful thinking Sir. The only thing that wins elections are Xs on the ballot. Something Labour get too few of these days to get even close to winning power.

Come back in 2025.

And there'll be likely a lot less of those when it emerges just how poorly a lot of this has been handled.

You’re right of course, it’s very unlikely there will be an election before then.

Which gives the public plenty of time to see the charisma and ability of Raab, Patel, Hancock, Sharma et al.

You see politics in terms of winning and losing. Trump won and look what that has lead to.

Government is about leadership and protecting its citizens. Using your criteria we may as well be led by the winners of Love Island. You never come up with a cogent argument but hurl insults and gloat about “winning”. The winners have not done a good job in leading us. To think when we come out of this mess we face a no-deal Brexit. Still - winning is everything so we’ll all be ok your world.

with all due respect a semi-trained pigeon or even Diane Abbott could probably do that too at the moment. Given that this incompetent clique have another four years of unparalleled chaos ahead of them irrespective about any pre-rehearsed pantomime that PM's question time has become....

The question is can he make his unelectable party vaguely attractive to voters in four years or more realistically, nine years time.

"Government is about leadership and protecting its citizens."

Well said. It'll hopefully be another one of the pennies to drop during this crisis. Along with looking after the NHS and other public services, prioritising the most vulnerable, understanding how reliant we are on migrants and those of different ethnic backgrounds, how experts are important, and how transparent and accountable our politicians need to be.

So much winning.

If you are of a fanatical left wing persuasion and follow Town it must be terrible. Nothing but losing. Everybody needs a little bit of a triumph now and again to keep the spirits high.

I'm off now to listen now to some early Iron Maiden. They're winners.

What more could the Government do? In terms of financial help they have went beyond the call of duty. This crisis wasn't of their making, blame the Chinese Communist Government for kit.

We will have to wait and see if they got it right with the timing of the lock down. However this is a new disease and it's impossible to know what strategy is the right on; trying to undermine a government during it is dangerous which is what the MSM has tried to do.

What if it turns out the lockdown kills thousands more people than would have been killed by the virus? Economic hardship is on the horizon for many now and many ill people have had operations cancelled. 60,000 cancer patients have been put at risk over this. We need a functioning economy when things hopefully calm down. We can't live like moles forever.

Thought you’d gone to listen to early Iron Maiden.

No sooner do I compare you to US rednecks and you bring in the slur of communism. It took you three minutes in fact. Brilliant!
