I expected it to be the usual stuff players say before a match, they’re working hard and have confidence etc, but it was very interesting. He comes across as really enjoying what has been brought in. A few possible digs about previous coaching in it, how players should be taught specifically how to improve and not just “keep doing what you’re doing”.
I did think he may lose interest with Cook leaving but he seems more determined than ever to bring us success. |  |

Similiar comments from several of the players in these interviews recently about how McKenna is pushing them all in different ways. They all seem really enthused about it. Their responses seem to be more authentic than just trotting out what they think they should be saying which is fantastic. |  |

I never understood the whole 'players won't respect McKenna' idea. People just jumping to conclusions on new managers before we have them again I guess.
McKenna has worked with some top talent at the top of the English League. Players were always going to understand that and respect it and I guess recent player interviews have shown that they do respect him.

Morsy was very open in interviews about "there is no other reason/manager I would drop down to League 1 for than Paul Cook". Then around 3 months later Cook is gone after Morsy has signed a long term deal. Nothing to do with judging McKenna, Morsy always made it clear he was only in League 1 for Cook | |

I like Morsy and he is a very good player but he has to sort his discipline out. He’s missed 7 games for us I think now due to suspension. That’s not good enough for a captain and vital player. |  |

The great thing about you, and the only reason that I haven't got you on my div list, is your sheer bloody determination. I mean, your little yellow feathers poke out of every post you make, and you must be aware that just about everybody on here knows that you're 'one of them', yet you carry on putting effort into trying to maintain what you presumably consider to be a reasonable disguise.
I also admire that you don't ever explicitly deny your true colours, which does show integrity, of a sort.

They style is very reminiscent of 'HaynesToe' who thought he was being cunning by naming himself after a player who used to score against them lots, but constantly gave himself away by referring to ITFC as 'you' or 'them'. | |
