New songs 23:12 - Aug 17 with 965 viewsJustafatedsheeran

I've seen a few threads on it recently and have been in agreement

Personally I think we had more original songs / better participation / player focused songs in the late 90s.

It may just be me remembering fondly and being a grumpy old man now but it seems others have said the same regarding chants.

I have a good feeling this season rightly or wrongly and it would be good to push the team on without template chants from other teams. In a time of so many keyboard warriors and social media wouldn't it be good to drive individual players on at key points during games rather than just berate them after?, whilst at the same time not having a lot of the same tunes heard at a lot of grounds.

Any original ideas for chants? or moreover starting with iconic song tunes etc as a basis to build from that are more likely to get participation?

Janoi Janoi I'm so in love with you
Every weekend watching you play in blue
If 44s your number then it'll be mine too
Coz you'll look sweet on the scoressheet when you're playing like Cafu.

Always a fan of Edward Ebeneezer but got a bit nervous when it was being sung on Tuesday night as it coincided with a Burton attack and the "where was the goalie when the ball went in the net" coincided with a Burton cross into the box

I still think Finidi's chant was a touch of genius.
It had everything a great chant should have.
Easy tune, so people know where to join in if they miss the start.
Easy tune, where the syllables in the words fit the tune perfectly.
Funny - rhyming Africa with "tracta"!

It's a shame Ladapo was born in Romford!

Distortion becomes somehow pure in its wildness.
