Seriously ? Some of you bothered that an absolute legend of the club appears on a barely watched TV programme with Farage.

I just watched the 2 clips. He talks about hating Norwich and loving SBR.
What is everyone so upset about.

Love Butch.
Hate Farage.
I won't be watching the clips.

We're not angry, we're just disapointed that a man that Terry Butcher, a man of honesty, integrity and courage has lowered himself to appear on low-rent telly with a neo-nazi grifter like Farage. I mean, I know we've all got bills to pay, it's just sad to see that he's reduced to doing THAT to pay the bills.

I'm sure that you, as a man who is very much opposed to People Being Nasty can see why we'd be disappointed in seeing a club legend sitting down with openly racist Nigel Farage to pay his bills.

It's the hanging around with Nigel Farage bit, on the grounds that Farage is a Putin-sucking conman who hangs out with nazis, that people are touchy about.

It's because Farage is a sh1thousing fraud who pretends he likes a fraud but his 'pint' is actually a bitter shandy.

A Greene King IPA bitter shandy.

(or maybe they'll make an exception and just ignore it)

Why do you always have to bring politics into it?

*Apologies if it wasn't you crying about people talking about politics in the closed season.

Considering the political leanings of the main tabloids and considering how long the Tories have been in power - it always makes me smile when someone perks up claiming that the liberals are the elite.

Unfortunately, a bunch of incompetent charlatans are the elite who preach to a bunch of xenophobic idiots.

A bit of a shame, but to be honest, footballers are generally not known for their left-leanings. Honourable exceptions include Bill Shankly and Pat Nevin. And in more recent times people like Jamie Carrragher, Gary Neville and Marcus Rashford have taken stands or done things which recognise where they come from. A combination of high earnings and lack of education is probably likely to mean that the average footballer is likely to vote Tory in the mistaken belief that they will be better off.

EDIT. This is a great quote from Shankly.

"The socialism I believe in isn’t really politics. It is a way of living. It is humanity. I believe the only way to live and to be truly successful is by collective effort, with everyone working for each other, everyone helping each other, and everyone having a share of the rewards at the end of the day. That might be asking a lot, but it’s the way I see football and the way I see life."

I mean I was really just commenting on the buzz word bingo they went for. The final sentence was essentially meaningless.

HOUSE!

Please note: prior to hitting the post button, I've double checked for anything that could be construed as "Anti Semitic" and to the best of my knowledge it isn't. Anything deemed to be of a Xenophobic nature is therefore purely accidental or down to your own misconstruing.

The expression "woke" originated in the African-American community and means "alert to injustice and discrimination in society, especially racism". What's wrong with that? Or are you happy to return to the days when black footballers were routinely abused?

Oh Terry ...

No real excuse for appearing with Farage on GB News – anyone who does is ignorant and/or they just don't care. He's still an ITFC legend but for me he's lost a little shine.

I certainly won't dwell on it though. I'll file it under "Life's Disappointments (Small)".

One of the big ironies about those who rail against "woke" is that they're often the least alert to the injustices and discrimination against themselves, their family, friends and community.

Hence, they're likely to vote Brexit, Tory, Johnson or whoever they've been pushed towards. They're political hostages who have gone full Stockholm syndrome.
