Cambridge away poor ticketing 10:22 - Jan 9 with 7490 views | Chocorange | This has been handled really badly. It was obvious this game would sell out as the closest away game and there would be huge demand. It seems we now have more gold ticket holders than away allocations. The last few times we have played Norwich , which had a bigger allocation than Cambridge have given, the tickets were sold by invitation letter to those and who had been to the most away games. Why not this time ? This was an absolute mess ,

Cambridge away poor ticketing on 11:16 - Jan 9 by Guthrum | I don't have time to look now, but i doubt the away allocation sells out for the majority of matches across the whole of L1. From a quick glance, most teams only bring a few hundred (Derby and Posh being exceptions, with Fleetwood at the other end of the scale). |
Posh only brought 600 fans to Ipswich the other week. Very poor turnout considering the relative proximity.

Cambridge away poor ticketing on 11:41 - Jan 9 with 2210 views | Danny_G | I had no idea sales had even started and I’ve been to almost every away this season. I’ve been checking the website every day but it looks like the article on Thursday with the sale dates was quickly buried beneath a load of other stories so I missed it. How are people generally getting ticket information - do I have to start using Twitter more?

Additionally if you check the actual tickets page (as in go into the 'away tickets' section) it'll list the dates when they come on sale to each tier of membership for each match when they get close to going on sale. Time they go up depends on when the away club sends Town details but they'll almost always appear on there before any are actually released to buy.

Cambridge away poor ticketing on 10:23 - Jan 9 by Pinewoodblue | You didn’t get a ticket then? |
No ticket as despite being on the ticket site before they were released , I needed 5 tickets and we have been to pretty much every away match including Plymouth Exeter Port Vale etc this season. The problem was with wanting 5 tickets meant I never got the option to add them to my basket , I presume because someone else had selected one of ‘my ‘ tickets … all I got was a message saying ticket not available. So then I had to reselect tickets and this happened 4 times before selling out totally., meaning my group has now been to all the furthest ones yet now won’t be going to the closest one of the lot. That’s not how to treat your most loyal fans and supporters that follow the team everywhere.

Cambridge away poor ticketing on 10:33 - Jan 9 by pennblue | It is tricky, I have missed out now on Pompey, Oxford and now Cambridge, it is really starting to get on my wick. I wonder if there will become a time when they move to 'dynamic' pricing. Where the people that pay the most get the tickets. The technology is certainly here for it. |
That’s a disgraceful idea. Hope that’s a joke suggestion. Shame on you if not.

But it's half term so will get a good level of interest I expect. I'm not convinced it will get to silver based on recent demand.

Could not agree more. I was after four and had the same problem. I have been to all bar two away games (Burton and Wednesday) including Cambridge papa johns and bracknell. They should have know these tickets would be less than the large number of gold card holders and instigated a priority like they did for Bracknell. Then those who invest more, financially and time, get rewarded. Exeter and Plymouth was a long haul and costly! It doesn't seem right. I've contacted Mark Ashton to suggest they do this for the remainder games with small away capacities - particularly Fleetwood as this should not happen again.

What you want them to do, hand deliver a ticket to you for every game? Trying to get 5 tickets at the same time as well probably had something to do with it.

Not helpful now but was there not an option to just select the number of tickets you want rather than click on individual seats? There usually is, although unhelpfully it's not always obvious, and it seems like there was an issue anyway with people having tickets then suddenly not so may not have mattered but worth bearing in mind for the future.

Why should trying to get five tickets be an issue. Often there are five people in a family or friend group. That should not penalise you

Cambridge away poor ticketing on 11:40 - Jan 9 by SamWhiteUK | I was well aware I wasn't going to get a ticket this year, with the increased number of fans wanting to go, and I didn't even bother buying a silver membership this year. It is frustrating when you live in Cambridge though! |
At leaast you have a local address and could easily get a ticket in the home end

Cambridge away poor ticketing on 18:08 - Jan 9 with 1531 views | Mullet | Quite a few disgruntled GC holders it seems and rightly so. Think the club will have to have a think as if it happens too often it won't reflect well on them. Pressure for tickets with promotion looming is a nice problem to have though.

It should not have happened at all and I am surprised that it has. It should have been perfectly simple if GC/Ultimate cards exceeded allocation. All it needed was a priority system by which those that go to the most away games get the first choice at getting a ticket, instead, it has been a mess. It was/is not good.
Cambridge away poor ticketing on 18:22 - Jan 9 with 1493 views | jasondozzell | Disappointed. I go to most away games. Have a gold card. To top it all I live in Cambridge! Went to the Papa John's game this season at the Abbey too. All that time and travel but couldn't get a ticket for this one. First time I've had trouble with tickets this year.

Thanks. If you mean the ticket purchasing site then it only ever does that for home matches - away matches don’t appear at all until the sale starts. I know there’s also a ‘matches on sale’ page on itfc.co.uk and that’s what I’ve relied on in previous seasons, but it’s been pretty unreliable this year so I’ve been checking the news feed instead - e.g., Bristol Rovers tickets are on sale in 20 hours and the details aren’t yet on that page.

I only discovered this page fairly recently, looks up to date at the moment: https://www.itfc.co.uk/tickets/tickets-weekly-update/ It is all a bit haphazard knowing when tickets are on sale though. Possibly more so because of higher demand or perhaps the outsourcing.

Cambridge away poor ticketing on 14:36 - Jan 10 with 1158 views | robhed7 | I am a Swedish ITFC supporter that have already booked a flight for the Cambridge match. As a Silver member I never got the chance to order any tickets. We might come over anyway and have a "tourist" weekend in Cambridge. Are there any designated away pubs for ITFC fans? (And should there be any late cancellations or spare tickets please pm me.)
