It’s to enable easier access to the pitch for when the ground hosts concerts and other events, artic lorries will be able to get in now, instead of craning staging equipment over the stands!
But will also help for maintenance work etc to get machinery in. | |

I hope the seats in the away dugout have a rock or two in the seat base or even a hidden spike for a little discomfort. Actually, I would have left the away area with a few deck chairs, and a pipe from the nearest gents sh*thouse to help the atmosphere.
