Although the goal was a bit of a gift, Parrot had a lot of work to do to get it right. Showed really solid striker's instinct and composure.

Also the conditions today were horrible - was never going to be a hollywood game, but we moved well and with authority.

Yes Parrot said as much in his interview, agreeing he was out of camera so had to attack the space

Funnily enough our Hollywood football came when the weather was at its worst

Parrott showed great anticipation, control and coolness in rounding the keeper and slotting home. Maybe there is a striker in there as yet.

However, he did not have his best match after that. A skilful player who works hard and I suspect he will have a big future in the game. However, we need more goals from somewhere at the moment. If they come from him, great. I am not yet convinced they will.

He really should have scored another today, but I did see him start to have a go more. Granted, he did shrink after the goal, but so did the rest of the team until Cook's subs.

What was his other chance?

He recieved the ball through the middle close to the spot but took a fraction of a second to control the ball and his shot go blocked down. Volleys aren't easy, but he may well have scored had he managed to get his boot behind the ball sooner

I felt he misplaced a lot of passes and failed to control a ball he should have controlled.

That is unusual for him.

However, my concern is still about whether he (or someone else) will score enough goals for us. It's a team game and if he does enough to get the rest of the team scoring a goal or two each over the rest of the season that might be enough. We have looked more threatening from set pieces and earning them could be important.

Also, Jackson’s pressing forced the crap ball across the backline.
