Who thinks on 12:25 - Feb 17 by peterleeblue | Ashton / Owners could put this to bed or maybe to them its juts not an issue. Quality of Football and what must be ahead of Budget Attendances and knock on retail must be good enough to keep K Mck in his job. Rome wasn't built in a day. Ipswich have been rubbish for over 15 years. We are not Rubbish now. The Burnley games proved that. May have to play the long game but it will be worth it in the end. Its a stick for me. |
"Owners could put this to bed". How is that? If they say his job is safe, how long is it actually safe for? What if he did lose the next 4 or 5 on the bounce? And the very statement that his role is safe tends to increase media speculation that it is very close to no longer being.

Who thinks on 13:41 - Feb 17 by tractorboy1978 | They've not gone from him being a huge coup to sacking him in the space of 3 months. They've invested hugely in McKenna, he is their man and he will get plenty of time. Thankfully they will be more long sighted than a portion of this forum. |
I hope you’re right, think we should stick with McKenna, as I put in my post. I just have a hunch that they’re getting twitchy, we’ve won four games out of our last 15 and are now closer to 7th than we are top, whilst having the largest budget League One has ever seen. It worked with Sunderland when they sacked Johnson and bought in Alex Neil and everybody questioned it at the time, obviously there’s no guarantees either way. All this said, I’m just guessing, like anybody is. Personally, I hope he stays, but I do think he has to be more flexible with his formation, but less flexible and stop changing the team every single week. It’s certainly been a more entertaining season thus far than in recent times, here’s hoping we can get a run together and finish strongly.

Who thinks on 16:09 - Feb 17 with 948 views | Nthsuffolkblue | I think that provided we make the play-offs (and I would be shocked if we didn't from here), it is progress from last season. I don't think they would sack him off the back of that progress. They will invest in a new pitch over the summer and analyse alongside McKenna what needs to be done to further improve results. If we improve on the play-offs, we should go up next season. If we are adrift of the top two at Christmas (or an especially poor first 10 matches or so) then I would expect a change at that point.

Who thinks on 13:39 - Feb 17 by BigCommon | We'll be a laughing stock if we bin off KM. No self respecting manager would want to come here, and be on borrowed time from the off. No potential manager would trust Ashton or Game changer, and believe all the spiel about "welcoming them to the Ipswich family"... On day 1, KM walked the corridors and was inspired by pictures of Sir Alf and Sir Bobby.. Imagine if we'd binned either of them off after 18 months... Remember that on Saturday, folks.. Sir Bobby day... I liken KM to someone like Cam Humphreys.. Both relatively inexperienced young men, finding their feet...There's a lot of good in both .. We haven't seen the best of either, yet.. I hope they are given enough time and effort, so that we do.. Personally , I think the "manager question", will be more relevent, this time next year.. |
Great answer to an irrelevant question at present , when there is still such a lot of points to play for and a project that is far from finished by all at the club ….. COYBs

With the amount of money he has spent, the brief is promotion, nothing less. Really hope he succeeds but he will deserve the boot if we are still in div1 next season.

I can’t make out what you are saying because of the poor spelling/punctuation/grammar. But if you are insinuating that people think KM is the messiah then grow up. He’s a good young manager who has earned the right to make a few mistakes. Let’s hope he learns from them.

As the last person made a comment poor since Charlton. Also involved in signing players who had fitness issues on arrival at our club great coaches don't always make great players like players hope he can can get things back on track but is very concerning . |
If he fails to get us promoted then he deserves a brutal sack. We aren't a college/university for the young coaches/managers. If he wants to learn his trade go somewhere else then. Ashton brought him to get us out of this league. He has learnt fook all since the Charlton game and remain clueless. When plan A works it's all fine. But when the so called smaller clubs get behind the ball he's clueless.

If you can't see the club has turned, after 20 years of steady decline, you're a moron. If you want success in the first season of investment and proper management, you're a moron (no, last season doesn't count). If you're calling for a manager's head after 7 months of his first season as a manager, presiding over only 4 losses and more than a 50% win rate, you're a moron. If you're saying that we're predictable and easy to play against, despite the stats showing that we still create over 20 opportunities to score in a game, you're a moron. Yes, we have a more than competitive budget for this level, but so did Manchester City for four years before they won their division, and so do Newcastle, who are building towards a title challenge. Do you think they might win the Premier League this season? No? Shocking. Unfortunately, you can't click a button online and demand instant gratification, which I'm sure you've grown used to over the last two or three years. If you think Gamechanger are looking for a return on their investment in the first 18 months, you're definitely a moron. I'm sure Premier League is the goal, but they are going to be realistic. Chances are we won't be top two, probably we won't. But I'm going to support my team all the way to the last kick of the season. Maybe you should too, and the rest of the p****s on here who can't wait to stick the knife in when Kieran doesn't"stick two up top." Maybe you should watch the Wrexham docu on Disney+. Ignore the Hollywood glamour, and realise those guys know it's not instant gratification. Honestly, people like you boil my p*ss. [Post edited 18 Feb 2023 1:03]

Who thinks on 05:24 - Feb 18 with 594 views | ibbleobble | It depends what he does between now and the end of the season, there’s still a lot of football to play. If this run got worse and we slipped well outside the play-offs there would be some very serious discussion about him leaving. Logic would dictate he deserves to stay given how impressive he’s been to a point. If I were game changer, I’d seriously consider how they approach spending money in the transfer market with him next season though. Other than Broadhead and Davis, I’ve not been too enamoured with anyone he’s signed so far and he’s spent a lot of money, which in my opinion, hasn’t been spent wisely as we’re overloaded in some areas and desperately short in others, which is in part, the reason for our decline. I think 100% this above ^^^^** The owners whilst ploughing all this money in and making stadium changes etc, clearly, like us, would love promotion this season. But as I’ve said before I doubt they will have demanded / expected it to happen necessarily this season. I still say the squad needs a better set of defenders . That’s the summer project ( whether we’re up or still in league one) and as you can see from McKennas interview this week there is an ongoing development of playing style the players are still learning , which we as fans, maybe don’t appreciate. Rome wasn’t built in a day!
