Non league wtf moment on 12:13 - May 4 by dirtyboy | Clubs at that level don't have endless cash to bring in coaches for however many days, facilities, recording of players to go back over etc. They're a business and entitled not to lose money by doing so. Parents take their kids all over the place for trials, £30 to cover club costs is peanuts. I've driven to London, paid for hotel for a night, paid £15 to watch and a £15 entry fee for my son to race for less than 30 seconds. You think people won't be lined up to have a go and happy to pay £30 then you're deluded. It's an opportunity. Structured, no need to be lucky being spotted in right place at right time. |
You think people won't be lined up to have a go and happy to pay £30 then you're deluded No I didn't say no one would pay the £30. The problem is that people will actually pay it. Sad times.

Non league wtf moment on 12:24 - May 4 with 725 views | Illinoisblue | Youth teams over here all charge $25 for tryouts. It’s 4 hours spread over two days. Kids get a t-shirt. No issue with it really

Could be worse - they could say ‘Sunday League- subs bench’.
Non league wtf moment on 14:24 - May 4 with 630 views | Vaughan8 | Is the £30 to stop any person just turning up and wasting their time? or as people suggest a bit of amoney maker? I can't believe they would hold trials and not sign at least a few players assuming they are of the required level. What is the going rate for a semi professional footballer? £30 to have a trial and get paid £X could be a good investment if you back yourself!

I bet there are players out there who know they won't be good enough but will pay £30 for them to tell everyone they've had trials... Put it this way, who would pay £100 for trials at Town so that in 20 years you can tell your kids ..hmmm
