Some of us have to do ten hour shifts at work wearing a face mask. The least you can do is follow the rules you introduced yourself.

Pretty classy of them to do that at a wake too.

Still stupid from NS though, they really should follow the rules absolutely to the letter.

Refreshing to hear an unqualified, genuine and timely apology.

She clearly has the integrity to be a good leader of an independent Scotland glassers.

Yes, Dominic Cummings would have said that he was testing his nostrils.

It is frankly amazing how many politicians who are making the rules are so prone to flouting them themselves.

Everyone of these incidents adds to the 'one rule for them' narrative and chips away at the resolve of the public to stick the rules too.

It's only a small crumb of comfort that she had the decency to apologise which is more than our English politicians fel they should do.

A defence now is “inadvertently “ breaking the rules. See members of the Royal Family breaching the rule of 6 in Norfolk.

Flouting the rules? She forgot to put a mask on and apologised.

I have done similar 2 or 3 times when in a shop, or popping to the toilet from the pub. String me up Twtd!

Nowhere near the standard of lockdown breaches we have seen previously highlighted imho. Still, glassers will enjoy it so that is good I guess. Not sure there is much political capital in it though.

She made a mistake, she apologised. There were no childish lies, Cummings style, no pathetic excuses or cover ups by toadies like Johnson and the crew. A non story for me and the real story should be about why a bit of scum was poking a camera at people at a funeral.

Exactly this.
A genuine mistake more likely than a deliberate breach of rules.

We have no village green, or a shop. It's very, very quiet. I can walk to the pub.

you arent on tv every day telling people what the rules are and that people should follow them. She really has no excuse for forgetting.

The people at the top should be held to higher standards than the rest of us.

Everyone forgets now and again. She is only human. Blo0dy long lense cameras on you 24/7 and she is bound to get caught out. Pretty below the belt at a funeral. Mind you, l still can't stand the woman. She has however handled covid better than Boris.

Can't stand her personally but this is a bit of a non-story and she's apologized (as politicians should do when they're in the wrong). As for civil servants...

Is this worse than a home secretary tweeting about a live ongoing murder trial? Stupid mistake yes, but as I myself have had to be reminded about mask wearing a few times and I firmly believe they must be worn by everyone, it can happen.
But Nicola Sturgeon's big problem is that she has emerged over the course of the pandemic as a strong and very able leader, not sure if it is due to our PM being a weak politician, and extremely weak leader, has just made NS look very competent in her role.

She should know better but it seems the mistake was at least fairly minor and we got an actual apology.

Not I'm sorry if you were offended or you don't understand, an actual apology. I didn't think you actually got those anymore.

She was sitting at a table eating and drinking, stood up and turned round to talk or people at another distanced table briefly forgetting to put her mask up. Her only mistake was standing up...if she'd just turned ound in her seat it's no story. It's no story anyway...

I don't particularly like her but this is a total non-story - pretty sure 99% of the UK has done this at least once in the last 6 months.
