Obviously the sport coverage ( World Cup, Olympics etc ) Spring watch Radio 2, radio 5 live and 6 music What else do you think is worth it?

The BBC license fee on 16:12 - Jun 4 with 3794 views | pointofblue | Definitely any programming which wouldn’t be viable on free-to-air commercial television. The natural history department is second to none.

The BBC license fee on 16:22 - Jun 4 with 3712 views | Sarge | Biannual international football tournament coverage Annual Eurovision Song Contest Coverage The BBC News/sport website That’s probably it tbh, I think most of the programming is clearly not aimed at me/my generation so it’s more paying the fee for access to other channels.

I mean what is it, £150? I just paid a robbing bastard dentist £50 for 5 minutes of his time.

Protect the BBC on 17:22 - Jun 4 with 3501 views | unstableblue | The forces undermining the BBC are the right, and the right wing press. BBC in a way gives us our identity. It’s demise will see the further rise of populism and the disease of Fox News type journalism. Yes it has got a lot wrong, and the main news and journalism is weak. But for me just these items alone justify the fee: Autumn/spring watch Motherland Newsnight R4 output - in our time, today, broadcasting house, Saturday live 6 music - Sean Keavny Those items alone justify the license fee

The BBC license fee on 17:31 - Jun 4 with 3471 views | Clapham_Junction | The news website, which is without doubt the best in the UK IMO. The football website used to be great, but in recent years they've really cut back the coverage of anything outside the Premier League - removing the league sections from the main page was a big backwards step as now it's quite difficult to access news stories from the lower division unless they make the front page (which isn't very often).

The BBC license fee on 17:37 - Jun 4 with 3425 views | You_Bloo_Right | In some ways the license fee is a piece of forced altruism. Want to watch Eastenders, or catch the latest Attenborough documentary? Then pay for a licence fee so the BBC can still produce stuff others want to watch/listen to. So Facters is right in my book; what's worth the license fee is the whole output even if only part of that output appeals on a personal level or has any objective worth.
