BANTER ERA NOV 2007 - DATE 09:55 - Feb 13 with 46391 views | chicoazul | What's your personal highlight of the Banter Era? For me, the way Delaney told Jewell he was off to live in New York and needed to be let go, and then turned up at Palace a month or so later and enjoyed a promotion and a long career in the top flight. I also like very much the fact Jewell signed Ingimarsson (sp) simply because they were at the same resort on holiday at the same time and Ingi did of course turn out to be an absolute knacker of a player. Also the gangsters arriving at Playford Rd looking for Chopra. What are yours? [Post edited 13 Feb 2019 15:17]

Almost as bad as saying “mind the gap” last season when we finished a couple of points ahead. Less than a year later they are top and we are bottom Ah well they’re still a sh1t club with no history

Must have used the same 'brains trust' of advisors to suggest them as those who suggested our managers over the same period. - Oh, and one of the richest men in the country carrying out such a cost cutting exercise at the club that washing machines at the training ground were nt fixed that somehow ended up ruining some of the practise pitches. - Bushes / a tree growing out of the top of the stand. - 'be careful what you wish for' - Ability to get the important transfer decisions wrong - selling Murphy and not replacing him properly ever since, and keeping Mcgoldrick on a big contract who hardly ever played much/well for us seasons after (same for Bart?) _ having more than 5 loanees, when you can only play a max of 5. That was another classic. MM moaning about 'red tape' that he couldn't play Adam McDonnell until he turned 18, then to not play him from ages 18-20. I've really enjoyed this thread. [Post edited 13 Feb 2019 22:13]

You've just prompted a memory of Sonko slicing a bicycle kick off his own post. Someone might even pop up and tell me that it was against Norwich - it was on TV, I'm sure

Potentially useful winger signed, looks technically good, scores a hattrick on his debut. Subsequently has all ability coached out of him by Mick "a point'll do fer me" McCarthy. Continues to be the most overrated player in our squad and utterly bereft of confidence for the next 2.5 years (and counting).
